"Armand Douglas" "Armie" "Hammer" (born August 28, 1986) is an American film and television actor, widely known for his roles in the blockbuster and widely acclaimed film "The Social Network".

Life and career

Hammer was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of Dru Ann (née Mobley) and businessman Michael Armand Hammer. His great-grandfather was oil tycoon and philanthropist Armand Hammer. Hammer was raised on the Westside of Los Angeles and the Cayman Islands. As a child he also lived in Highland Park, a town in Dallas, for several years. He attended Faulkner's Academy in Governor's Harbour, Cayman, and Grace Christian Academy in Cayman Islands (a school his father started) and then later went to LA Baptist High School in the San Fernando Valley. In 2010, he co-starred in David Fincher's "The Social Network" about the creation of Facebook, portraying both the identical twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. He has also appeared in the television series "Arrested Development", "Veronica Mars", "Gossip Girl", and "Desperate Housewives". He was hand-picked by filmmaker George Miller after a long search to star in "Justice League: Mortal" as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The film was to be directed by Miller, but he left the project.

Hammer played the Christian evangelist Billy Graham in "Billy: The Early Years" which premiered in October 2008.

The film garnered Hammer a 'Faith and Values Award? nomination in the Grace Award category, which is awarded for the Most Inspiring Performance in Movie or Television.

Hammer played Harrison Bergeron in "2081", the film adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's short story by that name which premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival.

Hammer is married to television personality Elizabeth Chambers.
