NYKO confirms the arrival of cordless Wii gaming

Following on from its award-winning performance at the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, third-party gaming accessory and peripheral specialist NYKO has confirmed the retail release of its innovative wireless adapter for the Wii Nunchuk.

While NYKO will also soon be releasing its eagerly anticipated Wireless Nunchuck peripheral onto the market – beating even Nintendo to the wireless punch – its Cord-Free wireless adapter will also allow gamers to easily separate their existing wired Wii controllers should they wish.

“NYKO is dedicated to providing outstanding wireless solutions for Wii gamers,” said Chris Arbogast, Marketing Director at NYKO Technologies. “We want to provide multiple options for those looking to untangle their Wii experience.”

The Cord-Free adapter comes complete with a wireless signal dongle, which attaches to the base of the Wii Remote, while the Nunchuk adapter and its free-standing sleeve turns the Nunchuk into a something more closely resembling a mini joystick. Once fitted, NYKO claims the dongle will deliver a lag-free connection while adding a further 15 feet of wireless range.

Also, the base of the adapter features a handy cord management system that allows users to keep the immovable Nunchuk cord out of site at all times during gameplay. The Cord-Free wireless adapter for the Wii Nunchuk functions with two AAA batteries (which are provided) and is capable of delivering up to 60 hours of continuous gameplay.

Interested in having a truly wireless gaming experience with your Nintendo Wii? The Cord-Free wireless adapter for the Wii Nunchuk will hit retailers in February for a suggested price of $19.99 USD.
