NOLA’s Big Sam’s Funky Nation to spice up Northern Britain

The sound of NOLA is coming to Glasgow.

Big Sam’s Funky Nation is headed to the United Kingdom to celebrate the 2009 Carnival Season in style.

The band will take part in the SoCo Social Mardi Gras, as Big Sam’s Funky Nation will visit London, Manchester and Glasgow in four weeks to laissez les bon temp roulette and serve it up hot, sweet and spicy Beignets and Gumbo style, with classic New Orleans flavor for their European audiences.

And it’s free.

Southern Comfort’s Mardi Gras month is a series of free ‘credit-crunch busting’ parties.

Big Sam’s Funky Nation will be flying in from the home of Mardi Gras to showcase the sounds and energy of New Orleans and perform alongside Scottish electro pioneer Mylo, rising star Firas, Glasgow luvvies Killer Kitsch, and the party-starting Londoners Living In A Disco.

Big Sam’s Funky Nation will be performing in Manchester on Friday, February 6th at Tribeca and continue with a special performance in London on Wednesday, February 11th at Cargo.  The band will conclude their SoCo Social Mardi Gras tour with a show in Glasgow on Friday, February 27th at The Winchester Club.
