Nickelback frontman Kroeger popped for DUI

Chad Kroeger, the band Nickelback’s frontman, has been charged with drunk driving in British Columbia, Canada.

He was arrested June 22nd in Surrey, after the Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) observed his driving.

Court spokesman Stan Lowe confirms Kroeger has been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
Kroeger will be arraigned in court in August to face charges.

According to their website, brothers Chad and Mike Kroeger formed Nickelback in Vancouver in 1996.

In their bio, they state that they came up with the name Nickelback from Mike Kroeger’s cashier stint at Starbucks. Customers would pay $1.50 for a coffee that costs $1.45 – and Mike Kroeger would always have to give them “a nickel back.”
