Security guards immediately shot the two veiled woman, one of whom died at the scene and the other who died after being hospitalized for her wounds.Three Egyptian passersby were wounded during the exchange of fire.
The incident marked the first time women have taken part in Islamic militant operations since such attacks started in Egypt during the 1990's.
Shortly before the shooting incident, Yassin was killed in a suicide bombing near the Cairo museum, injuring several tourists, including two Israelis, a Swede and an Italian, as well as three Egyptians.
The Egyptian Interior Ministry said Yassin was wanted for involvement in an April 7 suicide attack in downtown Cairo.
