That is what you call: White-collar and Blue-collar welfare.

The U.S. is corrupt. See below. Even when they think they will not encounter corruption, and then do encounter corruption, they still say 'I don't think that we will in our lifetimes', when they just did encounter corruption.
Fraud on massive scales, stealing money, taking kickbacks, you name it. And, the 'typical U.S. citizen' buries their head in the sand and pretends like it is not true, and then lines up in the 'mother of all kick back line' to get the payouts and kickbacks ... welfare.

Most of the time, the most important thing is not what you do, but what you don't do.
The next important thing is to not be complicit in the fraud, kickbacks, bribes and payoffs by ignoring it, making excuses for it or being silent about it.
There are many other things that I do, but I'm not going to explain those.
