I don't have a lot of faith in some of these polls...

Wondering........Sep 8th, 2008 - 16:31:56

who gets polled - no one I've ever known. Probably shouldn't put too much faith in them 'cause they could backfire and make people too complacent one way or another. The best thing to do is listen very carefully to what these candidates have to say and figure maybe half of that will come to pass if we're lucky. Don't put a lot of time in what the pundits have to say or write or for that matter, what is posted here. New faces draw a lot of interest, but wait 'till the veneer is pealed back, and that goes for both parties.

4 percentage points is a tieSep 8th, 2008 - 17:11:58

That is usually the margin of error. It hardly demostrates someone is ahead to any great degree.

USA Today/Gallup: McCain +10
Posted by TOM BEVAN | E-Mail This | Permalink | Email Author

USA Today/Gallup has released a new survey conducted over the weekend showing John McCain leading by four points among registered voters (50-46) and ten points (54-44) among those most likely to vote in November. That represents a 13-point net swing in McCain's favor since the last USA Today/Gallup poll taken in late August before both conventions:

McCain 54 (+9 vs. last poll August 21-23)
Obama 44 (-4)

'Wait till the Shrew is questioned'

I love it when leftists refer to a powerful woman as a 'shrew'. Dig yourselves deeper.

'and she falls into the neo-con trap of not telling the whole truth,'

Better to just outright lie like Obama HAS.

'and we all have our fill of the Old Man.'

But Obama's BS is so fresh at this point. Hope 'n Change(tm).. Say it again Barack.. Hope 'n change(tm)... you stinking parrot, say it again... That was good the way you said the pretty words for your puppet masters Barack, George Soros says you can have a sugar cube and a pat on the head.

'Things will for sure change. Rock the vote!'

Keep quoting the MTV slogans like they mean a goddamn thing... Idiot.

Huge: 20-point shift towards McCain among white women since last month in new ABC poll

He’s still down one overall among registereds and up two among likelies, but Gallup pegged white independents last week as the only demographic group where there’s still a major gender gap and thus room for movement. And now, maybe, here it is. ABC doesn’t break down white women by political affiliation, but the 20-point swing is split almost evenly between Obama losing points (nine) and McCain gaining (11). Can’t be only conservative white women who are responsible for that.

To what or whom do we owe this happy reversal, I wonder. The left has been telling us for 10 days how insulted women are by Maverick’s very cynical pick of our token yokel with two X chromosomes, so it surely can’t be her. Hmmm.

I say again: Hmmm.

Views of Palin are highly partisan, as noted in an ABC News poll last Thursday, and registered voters in this survey divide evenly, 47-45 percent, on whether or not she has the kind of experience it takes to serve effectively as president. Nonetheless she does inspire personal affinity in her peer groups. Her high 67 percent favorable rating among white women goes higher still, to 80 percent, among white women with children at home. And 71 percent of white mothers say the pick makes them more confident in McCain’s decision-making as president.

McCain’s also gained 18 points in enthusiasm and leads Obama by 69/24 on the C-in-C question, proving that not all of this is Palinmania. Oh, and the favorables/unfavorables? Palin 58/28, Obama 58/36.

Don’t look now, but Maverick’s suddenly up two in Colorado as well. Exit question: Hey, you know who I bet is enjoying this even more than McCain is? Hillary Clinton.

RIDE `EM COWBOY !Sep 9th, 2008 - 20:10:52

I realise that any sensible comments are immediately ignored by the bigoted literary addicts to this site, in their crazed frenzy to spout out heaps of crap, mostly copied or repeated from more intelligent sources, dissecting every aspect of these two candidates for Court Jester.

However, if you have ever been to school and reached beyond infants, you will know that OPINION POLLS are complete nonsense, imagination and bias gone mad. They are the epitome of man`s insanity and obsession at predicting the future or trying to cause false alarm. They can even be part of a covert propaganda campaign.

The masses will believe ANYTHING providing it comes from a source they consider official or trustworthy. HA - HA.

You would be better off going to see a gypsy with glass ball.
Ever seen the betting odds at a racecourse ? If you HAVE and taken any notice of them - YOU`VE LOST MONEY !

Just stop all this mind blowing crap about what these two jerk-offs masquerading as potential Presidents say or do. It is just PUNCH & JUDY.

You have only ONE choice from a VERY, VERY bad deck and that is McCain.

Nobody outside a Loony Bin would match a DONKEY against a THOROUGHBRED.

So forget all this Presidential shit and for heavens sake write about SOMETHING ELSE !Give your minds a rest.

It is unbelievable ! We even have some bum-headed nutter in BELGIUM joining in with his insane pile of shit.

pollster.com you can see that McCain is overtaking Obama in all the polls across the country, dozens of them, and these are the 'respected' ones where someone has actually said they have a legitimate polling technique.

I still say they are all a bunch of crooks so vote for McCain and hopefully with a Rep in the WH and Dems in Congress they can not do anymore harm.

Not many of our usual 'copy-someone else's crap, pretend it`s mine and paste it' morons seem to like this article. Only 2 ! pages, instead of the normal 22.

Your few words are absolutely perfect, every one hits this ludicrous second rate circus act right on the button. 10/10. Beats SP4, the fearful Lance and that nutter from Belgium by a mile.

I wrote the comments before yours. OK a bit patronising, but faced with the kind of soap-box garbage we get, it is called for. if you can`t beat them, give them the drivers salute.

Just a point to piggy back on yours.

Any elected Government where the Congress, Parliament etc. has a party majority the SAME as the President, PM, etc., it is no more than a Democratic Dictatorship. This is the British sickness. It is very close to an ABSOLUTE dictatorship, there is little difference.

If the Congress, Parliament etc. has a party majority OPPOSITE that of the Leader, President, PM, etc. THEN you have as near to a democracy as you can get in a set party system, short of Proportional Representation.

Well done - keep writing, we need more like you in the team.

women are voting for the McCain/Palin ticket just because there is a woman on it, plain and simple, then THEY are plain and simple. I'm not saying that isn't the best ticket, but for god's sake, do it because you believe in what they stand for, not because of the gender.........

...high mindedness, when you consider that Obama was picked simply because he was black. I mean ask yourselves if he'd be here if he were white?

Not a chance

We saw this 47 years ago with the press slobbering over some easterners called the Kennedys. Here was a constructed man, running against a self-made man and his looks, his daddy's money, media and mob connections got him into everything from a PT posting to harvard to the presidency. The media went ga ga, constructing 'Chamelot' and all the rest of the rediculous tripe.

Now, a generation of libnazi drive-by's from the flower generation are doing it for free, proping up the golden calf, the virgin figure, the boy-king.

...and someone has the gall to suggest Palin was picked for being a woman???
