She hit the ball out of the park tonight.

The first part of the speech was insufferable - like running for PTA president, then it picked up. The speech writers did a good job.

That was the best speech I've ever heard. Maybe I set the bar too low expecting her to blow it. Or maybe it was that the pressure was so much as this is her defining moment to make her first impression after the media so unfairly criticized her. Wow! She nailed it! She slammed Obama with the two memoirs yet no accomplishments line. And to mention all the taxes he wants to raise and criticize him for his underhanded dispiseal of gun-owning citizens and religious people. Thank you Sarah! I was going to vote independant but Palin may cause my vote to be republican this year.

...we can all dismiss the myth of her being a political lightweight, for now anyway.

This person pressed all the right buttons. Most of all, she secures the political right for McCain, once and for all. Her experience as Governor of what is the premier state of energy resources for the next century puts her right in the bullseye of this campaign. Her reform platform, all action no talk, has real legs.

To the libnazi establishment, this woman is a living nightmare: She is totally unrepentant about her family, and can sell her 'hometown' roots to a host of places on the fence about Obama, and has real leadership credentials Obama does not have. She can be McCain's attack dog, taking it in the chest while McCain executes his alter boy manners with quiet, statesmanlike, dignity.

Yep, like Reagan said 'it played to the ear, not the written word'.

Oweeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Nice jab, Sarah P. I have always voted Democrat and will probaly have to again because the US is in the toilet and frankly, neither candidate can undo it. So it is a toss up. BUT, that is one tough cookie who knows how to deliver a line. Better step up and come out preachin, Brother Barry. Let the games begin! Hillary 2012--she makes all of them look like amateurs.

But........Sep 4th, 2008 - 04:19:11

a good speech doesn't a good leader make - repeated time and again by SP in so many words. Granted she can give a good one, but let's see what she can do without her prepared script.

'Let the games begin! Hillary 2012--she makes all of them look like amateurs.'

The only way to get Hillary in 2012 is to vote McCain in 08.

After she blamed all he 'lies' about her on the Dems, of course she 'took no questions'.

She lied numerous times in her speech last night, then has the gall to call others liars. Thanks for getting the Dem base fired up 'Caribou Barbi', can't wait until you are ask question that you have to answer. Your Bush speech writer cannot answer all the questions for you.

McPalin has refused to answer any questions 'till she's ready and it's been reported that won't be any time soon. The party has to be sure they have her well versed in what to say. Did she go ahead and say that after 'she put the plane on ebay' it actually didn't sell on ebay.
Cute speech, but not so much substance yet.
