Abortion is 'settled law' acording to judge Roberts. The supreme court can't do away with it at this point.

Yes, the current law is a done deal, but that does not prevent a new law being written and passed that does away with it and returning us to the bad old days of coat hanger abortions. Which is what these religious zealots want - the bad old days. The repubs, who are firmly stuck in the past, are willing partners in this crime against humanity.

No, it just prevents it from being enforced bu the supreme court. I could write a law tomorrow outlawing people who don't have a rudimentary knowledge of US civics but the courts would still keep you around.

...ever read the Roe v wade decision? It has two premises:

1) you cannot deny a woman an abortion for no reason

2) the states, in absence of federal law, have the right to regulate abortion as they see fit, while not violating the first premise.

What this means is, a state can put numerous restrictions on an abortion, but none have yet to do it.

Once that happens, and it goes up to the Supremes, they have a pickle:

1) repeal i.e. unravel Roe...and then spend the next century listneing to every challenge, after all, THEY decided this lemon to begin with

or

2) they gotta accept the challenge and allow what the opinion says.

What do you think they'll do? Take a guess???? get back to us!

Go read the opinion.... S. Dakota has a fat surprise coming your way on 'settled' law....
