Hillary made a touchdown speech - it couldn't have been better, and it should have convinced her supporters they needed to get behind Obama. We can't afford another 4 years of the mess that Bush is leaving behind.

So Obama treated her like garbage, the DNC took the nomination away from her and gave it to him even though she won more votes and we are all expected to fall in line because she has to say this in order to not be ostracized by the party?

I would rather Obama lose in 2008 to get Hillary to win in 2012.

Obama Again Calls for UN Security Council to Denounce Russia... Where Moscow Has a Veto

Russian President Medvedev recognized South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states today. Obama's statement:

'I condemn Russia's decision to recognize Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent states and call upon all countries of the world not to accord any legitimacy to this action,' Obama said.

In his written statement that marked a toughening of his rhetoric toward Russia, Obama also said the United States should call for an immediate meeting of the U.N. Security Council to condemn Moscow's decision in coordination with European allies.

'The U.S. should lead within the U.N. and other international forums to cast a clear and unrelenting light on the decision, and to further isolate Russia internationally because of its actions,' he said.

Although Russia is one of the five permanent members of the Security Council, it could not stop closed-door consultations among the members. It could, however, use its position to block the council from issuing a statement or resolution critical of Russian actions in Georgia.

Those who paid attention would note that Russia isn't allowing anything of consequence to get through the UN Security Council:

At the UN, Russia's ambassador said the French-drafted UN resolution went against the terms of the ceasefire brokered by France's President Nicolas Sarkozy... He also objected to language in the draft reaffirming Georgia's territorial integrity, saying South Ossetia and Abkhazia did not want to be part of Georgia.

Russia can veto UN resolutions and the ambassador told the BBC that putting the text to a vote would be pointless.

He said: 'It's a waste of time because the process of the withdrawal of Russian forces will continue.'

For the second time in a month, Obama goes to an international organization incapable of acting in any meaningful way to the crisis in Georgia.

If they were serious about the energy crisis they would post a position paper on the internet for everyone to read, cancel this show, and save all the gas needed to put on this show.

The fact is: People like blowing lots of money and gas and like a huge party, the bigger the better.

'one shot to get it right'

More bullshit. There are plenty of opportunities every day, they just don't want to think about the pain of not renting the BIGGEST jet they can afford, turning the heat down in the winter, walking instead of driving, doing without air conditioning, etc. etc. There are THOUSANDS and MILLIONS of shots to get it right every day and they blow it.

Barack Obama as next President of The United States of America

The die is cast and for reasons that only a privileged few know, you Sir, will be the next President of the United States of America. Your next 4 years will be a turning point in US history and planet earth. CHANGE, your advisors and high stake investors offer the nation will undoubtedly be the same rhetoric and empty promises that make up a political campaign, that campaigns for appointment for any public office in America.

The White House will be the Black House to some, the Aryan Brothers of America will not be so happy, but yet will blame you and your staff if you fail, which will reinforce their belief that the Aryan Nation is the true leader for America. The religious zealots will be busy bees making nests to survive the onslaught of lies, corruption and deceit. Business enterprises and other competing nations will capitalize off of your inexperience in the art of corruption and murder. The organized crime organizations from different nations including our own will benefit from the lack of control over national crime.

Military governments including our own will test your tolerance to pain and deception and trick you into needless and profitable domestic and international conflict. You will no doubt attempt to colorize your staff to soften the race conflict once in office.

As President you will be President. Nations will respect you only for your title of office. Americans will soon see after your appointment as President that your intentions were manipulated by those that make the rules. You will fill the spot in history as planned, and nothing more.

You will never while in office be able to pull the troops from conflict in any land we are engaged in. As a matter of fact we as a nation will be engaged in a new conflict of war, which will galvanize Americans to seek a different form of government and a different and honest Congress.

You will attempt to shore up Americas problems with false promise and lies, because you cannot directly affect the CHANGE you promised.

Your frustration will be your downfall while in office, and your co-dependence on those that you trust will also add to your demise.

Our Armed Forces in rank will respect you as good soldiers they are, but those under them will not, and for good reasons, that only a good soldier knows.

America will not be America until its government respects the People, and tells the truth. America is a Republic, not a Democracy or Fascist Government or is it?

Until you can walk thru the streets and neighborhoods of America unaided by Secret Service or any other law enforcement agency you will not be respected by the many, only by the fearful and selfish few. Americans can protect their leaders if they are honest and respectful of the people they were elected to serve. Our Government has forsaken us for many hundreds of years, and now we will wait until your 4 years are finished for us to come to fruition.

CHANGE FOR AMERICA FOR AMERICANS!
The American Republic
A Sovereign Republic

'America will not be America until its government respects the People, and tells the truth'

Nah. The poster above just does not get it. The 'People' want to be lied to and when the truth is easily available they hide from it.

All that needs to be done is for people to stop eating, smoking and drinking alchohol so much, to become vegetarians, stop buying SUVs and act a little more responsibly and the problems of this generation would be over.

But, nooooh ... The 'People' like to eat themselves to death, like to smoke themselves to death, like to drive SUVs and burn oil ever faster, etc.

Obama is hear to let you know: The government will give you all the mediocre medicare, welfare and attention you can stomach so you can blame your self-inflicted problems on the lack of even more government programs.

The 'People' like to be lied too, and the government loves giving The 'People' what they like.

It was a great speech. It is really sour grapes and a slap in her face, though, for her supporters to join the other side. That's not what she wants - period!! And those who think otherwise are deceiving themselves.
