Barack Obama purges Web site critique of surge in Iraq (abridged)

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama's campaign scrubbed his presidential Web site over the weekend to remove criticism of the U.S. troop 'surge' in Iraq, the Daily News has learned.

The presumed Democratic nominee replaced his Iraq issue Web page, which had described the surge as a 'problem' that had barely reduced violence.

'The surge is not working,' Obama's old plan stated, citing a lack of Iraqi political cooperation but crediting Sunni sheiks - not U.S. military muscle - for quelling violence in Anbar Province.

The News reported Sunday that insurgent attacks have fallen to the fewest since March 2004.

Obama's campaign posted a new Iraq plan Sunday night, which cites an 'improved security situation' paid for with the blood of U.S. troops since the surge began in February 2007....

GOP rival John McCain zinged Obama as a flip-flopper. 'The major point here is that Sen. Obama refuses to acknowledge that he was wrong,' said McCain, adding that Obama 'refuses to acknowledge that it [the surge] is succeeding.'

Obama promises amnesty for illegal immigrants (abridged)

Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama today speaking to the National Council of La Raza in San Diego promised amnesty for the more than 12 million illegal immigrants that are living in the United States.

Here’s a bit of what Obama had to say: “Yes, they broke the law. And we should not excuse that. We should require them to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for citizenship - behind those who came here legally. But we cannot - and should not - deport 12 million people. ”

Obama went on to say: “That's why we need to offer those who are willing to make amends a pathway to citizenship. That way, we can reconcile our values as both a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws.”

That’s amnesty any way you look at it. How does “a nation of laws” ignore the fact that 12 million people broke the law of the land by granting them amnesty?

Do you really suppose he’ll insist that all of those 12 million people learn to speak English? Does that mean we won’t have to “press one for English” anymore?

Obamas solution to illegal immigration? Your kids need to learn how to speak their language:

''You know, I don’t understand when people are going around worrying about,

'We need to have English- only.' They want to pass a law, 'We want English-only.'

Now, I agree that immigrants should learn English. I agree with that. But understand this.

Instead of worrying whether immigrants can learn English — they’ll learn English — you need to make sure your kids can speak Spanish. '

An Open Letter to Barack Obama from the American Republic


It is very important that you think about what I am going write.

I realize that it will be a sacrifice of your campaign and for your sponsors for you to tell the truth. That in itself would finish your attempt to be elected as the President of the United States of America. Its unfortunate that in politics you must slide the truth in order to win favor by business interests , political advocates, well financed families and then what is left of the American people. It is that portion of people that you sir, should be catering your interests to. There are millions of Americans that really need a strong honest leader that can go up against the current dishonest Congress and demand CHANGE for the people of America and not just a surveyed few. And CHANGE sir, means a identified selection of problems with America that need replacement or repair, without the contention of Congress or the ones that pull the rule strings from behind. And CHANGE made within a short period of time, not years or centuries.

If you are elected by some reason, that only a privileged few will know, you will of course be in the same situation as many others before you have been, because they did not tell the truth. In the real world, the truth is not welcomed, but it exists anyway, waiting for the few or the many that can make the CHANGE to live that and become that, that so many people wish they could be. Americans must truly help the Homeland our Country become the true leader of the many that have lost their way thru choice.

He is not on drugs, he is just the lying bigot of the board that has nothing meaningful in his life so he spends his life on this board. There are numerous nutballs like him on this board, that come on here and spread their hate and pretend it is patriotism when in fact it is their deep seated hatred of anything that is not white.

All this guy does is post articles (usually by some right wing nutball) and when someone calls him on his crap, he just tries to intimidate them off the board. At least SP4 is harmless as he has zero credibility, this other creep can at least spell and sometimes (not very often) has a valid point.

Where have I done that? No, all I haver done is challenge you to refute anything I have said with an intelligent rebuttal. Sorry if I have said bad things about your Messiah, but he is a false prophet. A liar. A cheap politician who tells idiots what they want to hear and who is wholly unqualified to be president of the USA.
