how are you doing, John?
McCain is going to beat obaama like a rented mule.
So McCain said we can go forward or backward - well he isn't going to be the one to lead us forward with his Bush policies, so guess he means Obama.
Concerning Senator McCain's speech given in Kenner, Louisiana on the night of 03-Jun-08.
RE:'Tonight, we can say with confidence the primary season is over, and the general election campaign has begun.'
Er, not if you listened to the speech Hillary Clinton made after this one. There was not even a hint of concession in her speech.
RE:'No matter who wins this election, the direction of this country is going to change dramatically.'
Of this there can be no doubt whatsoever. If we follow our current crop of putative leaders, including Senator McCain, we will be making the hardest swing to the left since the election of Jimmy Carter.
RE:'The right change will stop impeding Americans from doing what they have always done: overcome every obstacle to our progress, turn challenges into opportunities, and by our own industry, imagination and courage make a better country and a safer world than we inherited.'
Then why is it, Senator, that you insist on going along with the Democrats when they are bound and determined to be a constant impediment with their thickets of rules, regulations and inexcusable taxes?
RE:'To keep our nation prosperous, strong and growing we have to rethink, reform and reinvent: the way we educate our children; train our workers; deliver health care services; support retirees; fuel our transportation network; stimulate research and development; and harness new technologies.'
Inarguable on the face of it, but Senator McCain never reveals the nature of any of his planned reforms in these areas. One must assume that we will hear about them from Joe Lieberman or Hillary Clinton.
RE:'I have a few years on my opponent, so I am surprised that a young man has bought in to so many failed ideas.'
Then why is it, Senator, that you go along with so many of them?
RE:'You will hear from my opponent's campaign in every speech, every interview, every press release that I'm running for President Bush's third term.'
You needn't worry about me on this one Senator. I will NEVER confuse you with George Bush and I don't think anyone of good sense can believe that you are running for President Bush's third term. President Bush has proven himself a bit slow and inclined to go along to get along with the Democrats, but you are infatuated with the Democrats.
RE:'They know I have a long record of bipartisan problem solving. They've seen me put our country before any President -- before any party -- before any special interest -- before my own interest.'
Except that, Senator, this 'bipartisan problem solving' seems very often to be in your political interests and not necessarily those of your party or those of the American people. Some of your crap has been intrusive and unwarranted.
RE:'But I know, too, that the course Senator Obama advocates could draw us into a wider war with even greater sacrifices; put peace further out of reach, and Americans back in harm's way.'
And your plans for Iran, Senator? Your proposal for settling matters in Afghanistan and the ungoverned regions claimed by Pakistan? The war will widen no matter who is president. This is not a matter in which the US has any real say. We have enemies who have religious and ideological reasons to kill or subjugate us. Unfortunately, we have given them enough money that they think they can do it.
RE:'Extravagant spending on things that are not the business of government indebts us to other nations; fuels inflation; raises interest rates; and encourages irresponsibility.'
Oh, so this is why you go along with the Democrats so much of the time! Gee, who would have guessed.
RE:'No problem is more urgent today than America's dependence on foreign oil.'
I completely agree, Senator McCain. There is no doubt in my mind that our expenditures for crude oil are already on the verge of destroying this country. However, the answer to it is not a 'cap and trade' scheme for carbon dioxide emissions. The only purpose this will serve is to make Albert Gore richer than Bill Gates, possibly richer than Warren Buffet. Without a doubt, your left-wing buddies will be delighted at the financial support that they will eventually receive from this scandalous boondoggle. I am also fairly sure that George Soros will appreciate having newly wealthy allies.
It amazes me, Senator, that you very carefully avoid the obvious stop-gap measure we need to take. We desperately need to put our own energy resources into production, but when it comes to doing that, you hide behind your 'federalism' and instead allow the Seven Trillion Dollar Troll to be loosed upon every state and every citizen of this country in one fell swoop. Even more amazing, you seem perfectly satisfied to allow Barbara Boxer to manage the beast.
RE:'We must unleash the creativity and genius of Americans, and encourage industries to pursue alternative, non-polluting and renewable energy sources, where demand will never exceed supply.'
So far, I have yet to hear you propose one damned thing that makes real sense in this area, Senator. Have you actually looked at any of these allegedly 'renewable' resources. Have you acquainted yourself with the arithmetic involved or did you just satisfy yourself with reading the brochures? Sooner or later, demand WILL exceed supply no matter what the source of supply is. There is no way to avoid Say's Law, Senator McCain. For all practical intents and purposes, it is a law of nature. This is important because all of the 'renewable' sources of energy, save nuclear fission, are basically solar power. We will need a very broad net to capture and utilize those 'alternatives' and it is clear to me that you do not know how big that net needs to be.
RE:'With forward thinking Democrats and Republicans, I proposed a climate change policy that would greatly reduce our dependence on oil.'
Oh, what an abominable lie this is! What you have produced, Senator, is a SEVEN TRILLION dollar monster with Babara Boxer for a head. It is now thrashing around on the floor of the US senate instead of being safely locked up in committee where it belonged, thanks to you and Senator Lieberman. If you are unable to understand why a great many of us are less than impressed, you are a bigger fool than I think you are.
RE:'Senator Obama thinks we can improve health care by driving Americans into a new system of government orders, regulations and mandates.'
SEVEN TRILLION DOLLAR MONSTER! A seven trillion dollar monster being trained by Barbara Boxer in the hope of solving an non-existent problem! What are we to expect of anything you and your left-wing buddies might do to health care, Senator?
RE:'Americans have seen me put aside partisan and personal interests to move this country forward.'
And I am not the least bit impressed with the results, Senator. The one thing you have done that I AM impressed with is charging out in the support of increasing manpower in Iraq, but that measure was not urged by you originally, nor were you the only one who championed it. Beyond that you have been a failure because you do NOT think things through. You are a range-of-the-moment thinker who will adopt any political expedient without any serious regard for the longer term consequences.
In truth, the only real difference between you and the Clintons, or even Senator Obama, is that you do have a better grasp of military matters and you do have a better grip on the threats from abroad than they do. Unfortunately, you do not seem to understand that the people you pal around with have dangerous and destructive ideas that threaten this country from within. Even worse, you have systematically destroyed the only resistance we had to these people. Namely, the Republican Party. As weak and graceless as it was, it WAS a defense against the leftist madness that you have unaccountably fallen in love with.
It becomes clear to me, Senator McCain that you believe the Democrats to be morally superior to yourself and the membership of your own party. What else am I to believe after having watched what you have done and heard you say that 'All lives are a struggle against selfishness.' It makes me wonder why you did not switch parties long ago. Whatever on earth ever possessed you to run as a Republican in the first place?
Charity begins at home, Senator. Charity is not a moral primary. A person's first duty is to him or her self. Anyone who fails in that regard is of no use to anyone else. Even you ought to be able to get a grip on that fact of life.
There is no threat from outside the United States than can destroy us. Only we can do that. No matter how bad a defender of this nation Senator Obama might prove to be, no matter what kind of internal threat he might pose, he will never put us in as much danger as you will. It is you who grant people like Barak Obama moral sanction, not the rank and file of your party.
Good luck, John McCain. You go without my support and you will NOT get my vote. Given that any vote I make that is not a vote for you amounts to a vote for Barak Obama, I WILL vote for him. Him we can afford to defeat two years from now. We cannot afford four to eight years of you.
publishes another long-winded manifesto that nobody is going to bother to read.
