...the California Constitution does not specify what marriage is. That being the case, and me being a real conservative, what role does the government have in defining marriage???? The governement simply should not have the authority to regulate something they are not specifically permitted to. This is called strict interpretation.
Gov. Schwarzeneker should, for once, be a Reagan republican and just say 'gee, it's not our problem'.

Live and let live. Why does a gay couple getting 'married' threaten anyone else? All gay people don't feel the need to be 'married' per se just as all straight people don't feel the need, but if they do, so what!
