why Blacks have the reputation they do?? Is it deserved? There is a small percent of Black fathers in a home - a lot of Blacks carry guns and commit a big share of the crime - they drop out of school........whose problem is this??? I'm not pointing fingers - just wondering!

That man could have been armed and the black community would still want the cops who shot him to be charged with killing him. Blacks think that they can do what they want, and scream 'racism' when they get in trouble. None of us were there, so how can we judge what happened that night? I'm going to trust the judge. I'm tired of this 'racist' crap. They caught a black chick-on film-try to run down a cop and kill him with a stolen car here in my hometown. They shot her before she could succeed. Her family sued the police for wrongful death, saying they only shot her because she was black! She was trying to murder a cop! It got thrown out of court because of the security film. All of the race garbage is getting out of hand.

No, none of us knows what really happened, but I totally agree that the race card is played practically everytime a Black is involved. It does seem, though, that the cops shooting 50 times is a little excessive.

This would mean that either three policemen were firing, or one cop had to insert another clip into his weapon. Now I ask you, how serious could this situation possibly have been to require a second clip, or three officers firing?

Most of you have no understanding of how an urban firefight occurs.

You have multiple police officers at different locations. One starts shooting (maybe justified, maybe not) the others hear shots fired and see/hear bullets hitting near their position (Cross fire from officer 1) They open fire thinking they are under attack. Now offcer #1 is hearing shots and assumes he or she is being shot at, reloads and starts firing again. Finally an officer noticing no movement in the car calls cease fire.

Notice this is all within reason IF you honestly felt your life was in danger (Reports of gun in car, passenger inside makes a sudden movement, car accelerating at you (Don't know if these are truely what happened, but I don't think any one here knows)) and the way most people in a tense situation would react.

What about the high number of shots you ask.How long does this take? With Modern automatics (Many have 17+ round clips)you can fire 5+ shots a second and reload your gun in under 2 seconds. Total time to shoot reload and shoot again is less then 9 seconds. This isn't like in the movies. where people take their time. If you don't believe me check youtube for samples of high speed shooting.

Mind you TRUE SPEED SHOOTERS make those times PALE. Theres one clip on Youtube of the world champ with a revolver firing 6 rounds, reloads, and fires 6 more in under 3 seconds.

The blame lies with Bell's friend Guzman who said he was going to get his gun to settle a score. This comment was overheard by the undercover officers. Professionals make mistakes in every job. Doctors and surgeons and nurses make mistakes and their charges die. In NYC building inspectors fail in their job and 7 people die in one shot. Scientists with big drug companies make mistakes in crearing new drugs and thousands die or become disabled. These people rarely face criminal sanction for their actions yet these police officers had to endure 17 months of uncertainty and personal hell because society cannot tell the difference. The investment (read here thousands of dollars) that Sharpton and his crew made in the witnesses sadly will have a negative return. 2 weeks before this verdict the same people who are up in arms were supporting a black homeowner in Long Island who was sentenced to a measley 2 years in jail for shooting dead an unruly teenager at the end of his driveway. This guy retrieved a hand-gun from under his pillow and casually walked to the end of his driveway and blasted this admittedly unruly youth in the head terminating his life. this gentleman had 30 minutes to react instead of the split second afforded the police officers and yet Sharpton & co. rallied to his defense and said he should not receive jail time. These people are better off going into their communities and working with the youth to better themselves tell fathers to stay with their families. Persuade youth to stay in school. You can only blame society so much. The fault lies in their own communities. I work in those communities every day.

The problem is the word RACE until we discard this word and realize it has no real objective u knobs (whites)are going to still be writing your racist comments. Yes none of us was there, but the fact they put 50 bullets in because they thought they saw some one reaching for a gun and then come to find out they were wrong goes to show that your American police are trigger happy and need retraining and are full of shit, and who ever said it was a little excessive lets see what you would have thought if all them shots were fired at your mums house.Two of the officers were black so how can it be race related. America is the land of racists theres no community cohesion or just respect for man kind and each otheras a human race. You should be wiped out like sodom and gomorah. Shame on you..just a thought ha ha!
