SP4: except...he IS a righty.Nov 26th, 2007 - 02:10:06

Look at him: Anti-abortion, non-interventionist, anti-tax....who's fooling who here? Take away his non-interventionism, and he's just another, pretty connventional, republican.

For a look at all the professional polls (including state-by-state) go to www.pollster.com. They show every major poll, and a moving average.

It is a real eye-opener (for example, look how McCain and Thompson are crashing.)

Certainly Huckabee is doing better than Paul in the polling dept., but nowhere near as good in the fundraising dept.

But at least Dr. Paul is moving in the right direction.

later.

To Pperfect:
You can try to help, though. I've just did my first-ever freeway sign waving, and it does get you in pretty good spirits when you see passers-by responses. Those weren't all that frequent, but nevertheless.

You can donate if you're a legal US resident, and perhaps even non-residents can support a PAC (like the Blimp).

But it does all come down to the primaries. In many states those are 'closed' (ie, one must be registered Republican to vote), and there are deadlines to switch the party, in some cases already in the past.
The General Elections are 'open', so you can them vote for whomever (or even switch the party affiliation back).

If you ignore the poll data, Ron Paul totally overshadows his GOP opponents on all other measures of popularity. Number of Meet Up groups, number of supporters at rallies (see You Tube videos of his meetings in Philly, Nashville, Las Vegas, Chicago, Seattle, Utah, just to name a few), money raised, internet metrics (web hits, face book, my space, etc.), straw poll votes, etc. How can the media call him a long shot?

He is our next President. Ron Paul will unite as under the Constitution. We will be proud to be Americans again. No more wars, no more meddling in the internal affairs of other countries, no more waste of taxpayers' money by spending hundreds and billions of dollars on foreign aid, while our roads and levies crumble, no personal income tax, no unbalanced budgets, no more senseless and costly wars on drugs, a new era of freedom, hope, happiness and genuine prosperity awaits.

Hi ,
I'm a 49 year old male in Southern California.
I've voted in every election since the age of Eighteen. At first I registered as a Dem. then for a while as a Rep. then switched to Ind.
I've now re registered as a Republican just so I may vote in the primaries for Ron Paul.
I haven't smoked Mary Jane For the past Fifteen years or so,
However I see nothing wrong with anyone else imbibing in there favorite Tranquilizers (be it booze, pot, prescription pills) or whatever. I do think that even though it involves inhaling smoke...anyone can make or purchase a water pipe to alliviate some of the dangers associated with smoking herbs.Millions of people around the world smoke Ciggaretts and drink alchohol, wich I would think is much ,much more harmfull in the long run.
Here in California we the people voted to legalize Marijuana many years ago and the Feds stepped in to over rule or wishes.
Then we passed prop. 187 to help us in curbing our problem with illeagle immigration. What did the Fed do? over rule our wishes once again...thanks big brother!
Finally we passed the Medical Marijuana inititive allowing the use of ,and the growing of Marijuana by People who needed it to comfort them in their illness (whatever that may be). as of now the Feds still harass those on the lists , but at least some of these ill people are brave enough to actually put their names on these lists in order to help themselves to feel better. This coming year ,if Dr. Ron Paul does not make it to the general elections...I will not be a part of the continuing disregard of the people of this (once) Great nation and WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANYONE. I guess I'll just finally give up.

Skeptics should spend a little time guaging the explosive growth and intensity of Ron Paul's support base online. Do a google search on 'Ron Paul' and count the results. Do a YouTube search and count the videos made spontaneously by supporters. And check out these sites:
ronpaulblimp.com
freemarketnews.com/WorldNews.asp?nid=51345
teaparty07.com

I have an idea we are in for some eye-popping sizzle from Paul's supporters as the primaries near.

SP4. You are correct, I should have said 'typical righty'. He is far from typical, he at least does not run around kissing butts to look good. I says things that shakes people up, and does not come out of the same mold. That said, I could never vote for him but I must admit he is interesting.

First, Ron Paul is a LIBERAL not Libertarian. Second Ron Paul is a LIAR. He was asked on national television about the illegal alien crisis in the U.S. He avoided the question, refused to answer. That is the same thing as guilty, i.e. Mr. Ron Paul would give amnesty to these illegal aliens.

There is only one candidate who will deport all 12 million illegal alien criminals and rid this country of the destructive H-1B visa garbage: Mr. Tom Tancredo. He is was the U.S. needs. Another Dwight Eisenhower, the President who stood for the American people.

There are only two parties, the military-pharma industrial complex with its select 13 candidates and the people with their one candidate, Ron Paul.

Surely the choice is an obvious one and we should grab this once in a lifetime opportunity to support a candidate that is our choice and will work for us and ignore the mainstream media’s smears as they desperately try to get their masters warmongering agenda back on track. Ron Paul is only one with comprehensive solutions to deal with the formidable problems that lay ahead as our sovereign nation state spirals into bankruptcy and servitude.

Dr. Paul's campaign, which is three-quarters of the way to its goal of raising '$12 Million to Win' by Dec. 31, had an outside party organize the fundraising efforts.

Dr. Paul didn't have an 'outside party' do the fundraising. The Donors organized themselves. Are you calling the donors an 'outside party'. Was a nice article just thought that you may be inadvertently misleading your reader as to the nature of the origin of the donations. Dr Paul does not accept corporate or special interest donations so his supporters have decided to pick up the slack. These two points are under reported in my opinion.

Ron Paul follows a constitutional philosophy and doesn't go along with the racketeering that runs Washington D.C. Since the media are run by the racketeers they are pressured to suppress candidates like Ron Paul who would interfere with all the corruption and the delusional empire-building agendas that the majority of Democratic & Republican party officials go along with. It's time for public resistance to the massive criminality of the government and the New World Order agenda... voting in droves for Ron Paul would be a form of resistance, and if the people don't choose honest leaders like Paul then the country will be torn apart and any resistance in the future would be likely to become violent since means of peaceful resistance would have been disabled. We already have a corrupt elections process and can't expect that election results in important races are legitimate. Only if the public vote overrides the margin of attempted theft could an honest candidate win a Presidential election. Let's become that populist landslide!

I am glad to ee an explanitory article that actually takes time to clarify important points about a candidate - that is something that RP does not get a lot. I especially thank you for clarifying his position on abortion - a lot of people assume that he is going to ban it - that is a ridiculous conjecture... and I do not know what these people are basing it on but I have seen a lot of really repugnant journalism exhibiting 'facts' about Ron Paul that are inaccurate and I thank this article for being in depth. It is very sad that we are now at the point where people have to get on the internet to get more facts from blogs like this rather than relying on people who are paid out the wazoooo for such a pittiful job, but I am greatful we have something to turn to.

njattack,
You are not doing your man Mr Tom Tancredo any favors kicking off your post with two inaccurate statements that even cursory research would reveal as false.
“First, Ron Paul is a LIBERAL not Libertarian.”
How can this be so if he’s serving his tenth term as a Republican? But why get caught up and hooked on labels, just work your way through the policies and the track record. It does mean a little work, but least then you will not be easily fooled by anyone or the mainstream media.

“Second Ron Paul is a LIAR. He was asked on national television about the illegal alien crisis in the U.S. He avoided the question, refused to answer.”
I’ve seen him answer the question forthrightly without fear or favor many times on television so I have no idea what channel you are tuned into. Amongst a plethora of places you can read what he has personally written about it right here: The Immigration Question by Ron Paul www.lewrockwell .com/paul/paul314.html (remove space), wherein part he states: “We must reject amnesty for illegal immigrants in any form. We cannot continue to reward lawbreakers and expect things to get better.”

So the words you then go on to put into Ron Paul’s mouth “Mr. Ron Paul would give amnesty to these illegal aliens.” is starkly false. However, what is really important is that Ron Paul not only recognises the problem but has a practical solution in policies to turn the situation around… you should take the time to read what he has to say instead of making it up yourself.

A true champion of the people has stepped forward when we need him most desperately. At a time when we are losing it, his message is liberty. Is it any wonder that he is so loved? Dr. Paul represents hope for America and the world. The day I vote for him will be one of the proudest days of my life.
