The December 7 meeting marks the first time Paisley and McGuinness have been to the United States together. The once bitter foes have been heading the Northern Irish government since May.
Paisley represents the protestant Democratic Unionist Party, while McGuinness is the deputy of Sinn Fein, the Irish Republican Army's political wing.
'The president looks forward to congratulating the two leaders on overcoming years of violent conflict, and for taking the historic path toward a peaceful and prosperous future for all the people of Northern Ireland,' White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.
