She's not a climate expert. She's another scientist commenting on something out of her field.

re-CENSORING SCIENCE St. Louis Post-Dispatch

A Bush official once bragged to a reporter that the administration had the
power to create its own reality. That boast has been proved wrong time and
again over the last seven years. The ham-handed attempt to stifle Dr.
Gerberding is just the latest example. ...

RIGHT, and there is no mad cows in the USA or Texas. USDA certified beef
safe to eat. Because President Bush and the cattle industry says so. ...

PRIME MINISTER MARTIN: This is a North American industry and the solutions
are science-based. And those science-based solutions are going to be arrived
at between the two of us. And that's where the coordination comes in.

PRESIDENT BUSH: You know, I personally haven't stopped eating beef. I like
to eat beef and will continue eating beef, because I believe the food supply
is safe. But we fully understand that we will work together to make sure
that we address as many concerns as possible in a scientifically-based way. ...

Section 2. Testing Protocols and Quality Assurance Controls

In November 2004, USDA announced that its rapid screening test, Bio-Rad
Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), produced an inconclusive BSE test
result as part of its enhanced BSE surveillance program. The ELISA rapid
screening test performed at a BSE contract laboratory produced three high
positive reactive results.40 As required,41 the contract laboratory
forwarded the inconclusive sample to the APHIS National Veterinary Services
Laboratories (NVSL) for confirmatory testing. NVSL repeated the ELISA
testing and again produced three high positive reactive results.42 In
accordance with its established protocol, NVSL ran its confirmatory test, an
immunohistochemistry (IHC) test, which was interpreted as negative for BSE.
In addition, NVSL performed a histological43 examination of the tissue and
did not detect lesions44 consistent with BSE.

Faced with conflicting results, NVSL scientists recommended additional
testing to resolve the discrepancy but APHIS headquarters officials
concluded no further testing was necessary because testing protocols were
followed. In our discussions with APHIS officials, they justified their
decision not to do additional testing because the IHC is internationally
recognized as the 'gold standard.' Also, they believed that conducting
additional tests would undermine confidence in USDA’s established testing
protocols.

USDA orders silence on mad cow in Texas

Susan Combs by no means has public and consumer health at heart while she is
protecting the cattle industry. She is oblivious to mad cow disease. Her
soul purpose is to protect the cattle industry at all cost, including my
mothers life (DOD 12/14/97), or maybe one of your family members from any
strain of mad cow disease in TEXAS. SHE helped cover-up mad cow disease in
TEXAS both on that inconclusive that was positive so many times it will make
your head spin. PLUS, the other mad cow in TEXAS they rendered without
testing at all, that came from the top out of Austin. THEY should be tried
for murder. corporate homicide is what i call it. they knew for years, but
kept on keeping on.

SUPPRESSING, ALTERING OR MANIPULATING EMPERICAL DATA UNDERMINING THEIR
IDEOLOGICAL POSITIONS: More than 4,000 scientists – including 48 Nobel Prize
winners and 127 members of the National Academy of Sciences – have accused
the Bush administration of distorting and suppressing science to suit its
political goals. (Shogren – Los Angeles Times 07.09.04)

A report by the Union of Concerned Scientists found that this administration
has:

a well-established pattern of suppression and distortion of scientific
finding by high-ranking Bush administration political appointees across
numerous federal agencies. These actions have consequences for human
health, public safety and community well being. Incidents involve air
pollutants, heat-trapping emissions, reproductive health, drug resistant
bacteria, endangered species, forest health, and military intelligence

The report also found that:

there is significant evidence that the scope and scale of the manipulation,
suppression, and misrepresentation of science by the Bush administration is
unprecedented.

A report by the House Committee on Government Reform – Minority Staff
reaches the same conclusion, revealing examples such as the administration:

Changing education performance measures to make “abstinence-only” programs
appear effect; deleting information on the efficacy and use of condoms from
the Center for Disease Control web site; withholding findings on global
warming and other negative impacts on wetlands and preventing any analyses
on alterative environmental proposals;

using misleading data to suggest that a functioning missile defense system
could be deployed quickly;

including information on the National Cancer Institute’s web site suggesting
conflicting evidence on whether abortion leads to breast cancer when the
scientific community has determined no such link exists; and

preventing research on agricultural practices having a “negative health [or]
environmental consequences.

So there is a surprise?

I feel sorry for all the people that voted for Mr. Bush. This is why it is so important that the People be given accurate information, or have the will and ability to seek it out before an election. 'The voting public' in general are quite able to make good choices based on accurate and truthful information.

It is obvious what kind of information was diseminated through this group, that many thought they were making informed decisions.
Information was available before both elections but was buried in the news and had to be rooted out.
For many in a busy world it was effectively hidden from sight.

The criminal, possibly even treasoness, acts of those in power to suppress the truth from the American voter may be unprecidented in our country's history.

I also feel a little sorry for Mr. Bush, for it is the men behind the curtain that bear much of the blame. I don't think Mr. Bush, by himself, is intellecualy capable of creating all this havoc.

What Legacy these men have left for our future!

Dr Gerberding is absolutely NOT 'commenting on something out of her field'. She is an infectious disease expert. Using data from climate experts, her report is on how disease prevalence would be affected by change.

But that's a perfectly typical response from a Bush apologist: when caught in a lie, tell another to cover it up. Just like their claim that the report was chopped up because of conflicts with the IPCC report... except that many of the parts they removed exactly matched things said by IPCC.

The climate change issue is clearly a 'reality failure' for the Bush administration.
A reality failure occurs when reality fails to meet your expectations.

Yeah yeah... 'Global Warming' and infectious diseases are the same thing.... As long as you are being told something you want to hear.
