for that crime he should get death.
and then go to his home and arrest his family and give them death also.
Has anyone watched the people going past the sunnyway bins ?
ZERO Tolerance for humanity too!
I totally do that when I am getting bulk candy in my store-I try a few on the sly, especially malted milk balls..
wow
never shopping in Albertsons that is fo' sho
veto albertsons
That was a horrible abuse of power from that cop. I hope the judge sees this, and asks the store to weigh 2 jellybeans, and have the man pay them for those 2 pieces of candy. That'll teach Albertsons to be so petty. And as for the cop, I think he should be put on the front page of the local newspaper with the headline 'Local hero nabs felony thief', and then go on to describe how he apprehended the heinous criminal who dared to taste 2 jellybeans. How did this guy get a badge?
p.s. To the 'boycott albertsons' poster-the albertsons here in my town is awful, dirty, and poorly stocked. I'm already boycotting them. :)
These are the same folks, who about a week ago, were ripped off for about 10 million dollars in a fradulent vendor payment scheme, maybe there just trying to make up for their loss, let' give them a break.
one jelly bean at a time
I am actually more suprised at all those who comment negatively on the subject without knowing the whole story. The ignorance of these folks surpasses, that of the thief, store, and security guard.
I work there and have sampled the candy before.
If the candy is 6.99 a lb? How would 10 jellybeans be worth two dollars? I think that cop needs to recheck his math. They must be some big jellybeans!!!
Mmmm another lie... The Man said he he had been shopping at Alberton's for 30 years - He's from this area and this Albertson's ( the only one for 40 miles was built about 18 years ago!!!!! I happen to live 2 blocks from this particular Albertson's and watched it being built. My next door neighbor is a manager there. The real story is not what has been reported in the news paper or over the internet. It got blown out of proportion. He did steal, and he did steal far more than 2 jelly beans. From what I was told, he also tried to lie his way out of it. Had he just fessed up and apologized and paid for the candy he probably would have been told to leave and not come back. This store has been trying to crack down on theft and this guy was caught. He is not the hero here. The theft adds up and the store (all stores) pass the losses onto the other customers. Don't fault Albertson's or any other store.
Albertsons is very over priced on candy anyway. $6.99 a # for stale jelly beans is stealing. But never the less they should lock this criminal up for many years. Although, I just went to albertsons and stole ten jelly beans and weighed them. They only weighed less than one ounce. That's as low as the scale would weigh. That equals less than 43 cents. By the way I went back and put 43 cents in the box above the bin. I would fine him $1 and cut off both of his hands. Would that be fair ?
I make a practice out of not pilfering items when shopping. I still won't ever go to Albertsons ever again.
You are all sad little people. With everything going on today you are going to let this little man and his jelly beans interfere with your lives this much. Yeah....that's smart. Oh by the way to clear things up for all of you who feel sorry for the thief, he was given the oppurtunity to pay, as are all shoplifters at the store, he refused, and therefore the police did their job. Oh and to the local moron, who decided to comment that the jelly bean cop is the reason we have so many illegals, first have some friggin respect, and throw a dash of knowledge in with it. This particular cop has a side job, working security at the store, he isn't responsible for weeding out the 'illegals'. If you are so concerned about them, put on the uniform and go to work.....oh wait, you'd rather let someone else do that, then complain when they don't do it your way. Wake up people, the man was a thief, the cop did his job, and well that is it.
oh i forgot, Isn't saying
I'll never shop at Albertsons again kinda like when you were five and told another five year old, he couldn't come to your birhtday? Yeah...you showed them
Good Lord, get a life! Albertons' may have gone overboard with an arrest, but stealing is stealing. Why tolerate it? In the long run it's we the consumer who has to pay for the theft. Companies just don't absorb the losses and say 'Oh well!'. Someone has to pay, and I'm sorry to say it will be you and me. Besides, I'm sure Albertson's had to throw away the candy if he scooped it up with his bare hands, its not like jelly beans are individually wrapped. That freaks me out more than anything. Where have those hands been? Think on that one.
This crime fighting cop probably free doughnuts for working there.
I bet the headline in the paper read, Jelly Bean thief snagged by overweight cop.
