If you are intensely critical of the US, while tolerating homicidal enemies who condemn everything you previously claimed you are for - human rights, voting rights, gay rights, women's rights, porn - then you're a patriotic terrorist.

Good advice, I just honestly can't understand how there are some people out there who are so unbelievably blinkered that they can not their heads around the magnitude of what we are genuinely up against. They want to blame it on the USA when it has been going on all over the world, or they want to blame it on Bush or 'the neo-cons ' when it has been going on long before he got into office. Whatever the issue, politicalization has eclipsed all reason to the point where their arguments just do not make any sense, yet they still keep repeating them over and over.

This does look suspiciously like a 'spin' exercise to divert attention away from Bush's problems with G8 and Climate Warming.
The timing looks all wrong from the plot aspect - security services would normally wait for all suspects to be picked up at the same time. To have one out of the country is either because their hand was forced for political reasons or because they had lost track of him (pretty incompetent if so).
Also the plot seemed to be at a very early stage, the plotters didn't even have explosives available, so one would normally expect the security services to wait, with the suspects under surveillance, on the hope of picking up further plotters who might become involved, as in one of the cases in England where the security services replaced plotter's explosive with a benign substance and then waited to catch the whole group
The scale of the plot is also largely conjectural - blowing up jet fuel lines is hardly 'one of the most chilling plots imaginable'. If just the lines are blown up, the supply would be turned off. If some storage tanks were affected, it would normally be the practice for them to be in discrete groups, so that problems from one or two could be confined and not affect others. (as with the accidental fire at a similar tank farm in England recently).
And the overblown conjecture about an attack on JFK putting the 'whole country in mourning' is just feeding the already high level of paranoia in america.
This all looks like a smoke screen so that Bush elsewhere can have 'a good day to release bad news'

News for you buddy - I'm not from America ('Land of the Free' - ha ha ha ha!) so sorry, but I can't 'get out'. Suppose it didn't even occur to you that not everyone is from America. Get your head out your butt.
If I was, I probably would have got out as I would be none too proud of living in a country that has murdered god only knows how many millions of people in the last 60 years alone. I would certainly be none too proud of living under the rule of a complete moron who only understands bombing, maiming and inflicting suffering on people.
The real fundamentalists can be found in the White House (and in Downing Street) - people who only recognise the deaths of white people and who lie their way into declaring wars on nations that pose no threat in order to steal their resources and dominate a strategically important area. It's called imperialism - look it up sometime.
And guess what, even if Iraq did have WMD (which everyone with a brain knows they never did), so what? America has the largest stockpiles of WMD and ACTUALLY USE THEM every single goddamn day, killing people in huge numbers. The latest bombing raid is on Somalia, one of the poorest countries in the world. How can some people in America not be so completely and utterly ashamed of that?
