And people who were following this story for the last several years are not surprised, even though he's a terrorist. Venezuela wanted him extradited, and the Bush administration (Posada was taken into custody by the U.S. government only a couple of years ago) refused, as they are hostile to Chavez.

What was also outrageous was Posada's bid to get U.S. citizenship. That'll probably happen--it's probably in the works right now, since his sponsors are in the administration. And the Bush adminstration is very much at home with those who would kill an airliner full of Cuban athletes.

This lays to rest the propaganda that the US is conducting a war on terror. The reason Posada Carrilles was released was that he was a trained CIA operative conducting terrorist operations that blew a Cuban passenger plane out of the air with the loss of 73 lives and numerous other terrorist activities. But the US can't seem to find anything to charge him with. The citizens of the US need to wake up.
