Go Arny, go! Once California gets addicted to taxes on Marijuana the government will have to give in and rethink its stupid, ineffectual and wasteful 'War on Drugs'.
Oh, and one of the best things about Arny winning the statehouse in California was watching Barbara Boxer on C-Span as she woke up and discovered that she was living in Arny-World instead of La-La-Land.
Bwahahaha!
Taxing vice is just a wonderful thing. Like pollution credits, It actually makes it easier to do those things liberals supposedly despise. Now, that they collect revenue, the incentive is there to make sure that the vice stays in place.
Consider cigarettes: By taxing them, the incentive to make sure they are available is great. Also, the companies stay in business, so they can be sued, another revenue. Do the cigarette companies get hurt? Heck no, they just pass the cost on to the consumer!
Pollution credits are, essentially, the same scam. They do not give an incentive to reduce pollution, they just make it easier to pollute and pass the cost on.
Why is it people love taxes?
This is not about taxing vice. It might be understood this way if it was about recreational use, but this case is for medicinal purposes. Would be like taxing morphine used in post surgery recoveries or rubing alcohol in hospitals. 'Vice' isnt about the product per se, but the type of use you make of it.
the governator would take advantage of the precarious status of med marijuana to raise money and, trying to see the bright side of it, Med Marijuana advocates see it as a legitimizing move. Nothing about vices in there...
