It seems Mr. Obama has legs! Now, he wins a couple of key races and thunder thighs has a real problem.
She's trotting out the old stud for another whirl. It'd be interesting to see who actually will be President if she wins.
Although I believe this country should consider voting for a woman president, I think Obama has the know how to win, the intelligence to run this country like a president should, and the ability to know what priorities the U.S. needs to deal with.
I wonder what job she will put him in if she wins?
I think she will try make him Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Imagine a disgraced and disbarred lawyer as our Chief Justice.
Or perhaps she will put him in charge of Women's relations. If NOW doesn't have problems with someone married to a accused rapist, sexual harrasser being their president, then they shouldn't mind him being in charge of their issues.

Looks like it will be a interesting race to the oval office. We are still a long ways out and only time will tell. My pick is for Obama. With his fresh perspective and a keen intellect as well as a heart that is beating in time with the pulse of the nation as a whole he has a chance. Well at least he has my vote for the time being.
As long as hanging Chad stays out of Flordia I think it will be Obama taking the oath of office.

i love it how america says were ready for a women president, but as soon as a man comes into the picture the democrats who wanted a woman so badly switch to obama, now claiming that they want a black president. how does being black change your opinion on national subjects? How does it change how you will deal with a mis lead war? and in that matter how does being a women affect it?
This is an important race in Americas history we should be looking at the candidates stances on important issues,less on the color of their skin, and what they have under there pants.
And no socialist would do a service to this nation.
Both promise national healthcare, which means those who work get to pay for not only their own healthcare, but for the healthcare of those who do not work. This means higher taxes, this means doctors and nurses effectively become government employees, this means waiting in line at a doctor's office for four hours while some indigent person coughs tuberculosis germs in your face.
I just cannot see why anyone would vote for Hillary or Obama. Race and gender seem to be the only reasons a person might vote for them, and that's not enough of a reason.
It is truly amazing how in our newly fractured country anyone with a different opinion is instantly referred to as your kind, them, etc., etc. Why is it that so few people miss the simple matter of looking for substance and solutions to this countries problems from a canidate and then letting the chips fall where they may. It would be a constuctive break from the usual my party mentality that is sending our great country down the tubes at an ever faster rate!!!
The rarest of creatures in today's political arena is someone that concentrates on solutions as opposed to polls and opinions. Obama is at least at this point a bit of a maverick in this respect but has a long ways to go. Take the money out of the equation and it would be refreshing to see a candidate run for the people and their issues! ( Not all that uncommon 200+ years ago.)
Augustine is exactly right. And Thomas, how is Obama in beat with the heart of the nation? He is a media darling, just like Clinton, for the wrong reasons. People, to tell the truth, John Edwards is the best candidate in the Democratic field by far. His stances on trade with China, civil unions, energy independence are good. Hillary is against biorenewables and for full gay marriage, not civil unions. Obama has no opinions because he has no experience and it would not be in his interest to have any opinions now.
I am a current student at Iowa State, and I saw Obama speak in front of 5,000 other Democrats at Hilton Colesium. I was all into the hype at first, but he did not live up to it. He is not a rivetting speaker, in fact he is boring. We are wasting our time with him and Hillary. Neither one is electable after the primary, and if one makes it through, there will be a Republican landslide.
The only other viable option besides John Edwards is Al Gore, a joint ticket of those two would almost surely win. The other candidates, Richardson, Dodd, etc. they have no chance because of little recognition. But I am warning all of my party, affirmative action is not popular, mainstream people and mainstream Democrats like myself will not vote for a candidate because 'we need to have a woman or minority President for equality and fairness.' It is not that the mainstream will not vote for a woman or a black person, its just that they need to be qualified and neither of those two are.
What are your thoughts?
Sen. Obama is the best candidate Democratic Party can put forward for 2008 election. He is educated, mature but young, intelligent and very eloquent. However being the best doesn’t mean he is winnable in 2008 Nov. Any Democrat who wants to win in Nov needs to carry one southern state out of 12. Remember the 2006 Nov Sen. election in TN? That will be repeated in all of them and he will loose the election.
So for the sake of the country and the sake of the Democratic party, he should not win the primary. Sorry folks we are not there yet!
Armchair psephologist, you say Obama is educated, young, eloquent, etc. So what? There is no meat to that; what are his views? Not what does he say, but what has he voted for before? Also, have you ever seen him speak? I have, how do you know he is eloquent? Trust me, he is not bad, but not much above run of the mill. He may be a good candidate in the future, but his youth and inexperience will hurt him. Not only in the election, but if he wins, the old giezers (sic?) on Capitol Hill will eat him alive.

Do you understand that we already have socialized medicine? Right now working people pay for health care for the poor. Instead of having a reasonable system that manages costs for those who don't pay or who lack insurance and need to pay out of pocket, we provide those patients with the most expensive care possible. If you have health care you make an appointment for non-emergency care, you might see a nurse practicioner rather than a doctor, and although cost is not the ONLY criterion for your care, it is a factor.
Those without insurance don't see nurse practicioners or make appointments that allow hospital resources to be used most effectively. They end up in the ER seeing doctors in the most inefficient and most costly way possible. Who pays for this care--I do, and so does every person paying for insurance...and taxpayers get to eat some of the costs too.
Neither Obama nor Clinton has advocated a socialist everyone gets the same coverage health care plan.
Where the plans the dems are putting forth help are in CUTTING the overall costs and providing a safety net for those who are working, but don't have insurance or who temporarily lose insurance. Have you ever switched jobs and had to get coverage? It cost me more for the 1 month between jobs than I had to pay for a whole year of normal coverage. Why? Because individuals don't have bargaining power. Why do prescriptions cost more in this country than in Canada? Because the republican congress made it ILLEGAL to import less expensive medicine. Does this make sense to you? Do you like paying more money for the same or less coverage than you are currently getting. I don't.
