KDND, owned by Entercom Communications, is obviously liable and will have to pay damages. It knew, or should have known, of the dangers of such things before sponsoring such contests, similar to the show 'Fear Factor'. A jury would agree, regardless of any 'contract' the woman might have signed. Such releases of liabilty are invalid anyway in cases of life and death.

She complained of headaches. Her brain obviously swelled until it killed her. A nurse even called in to warn the station to stop the contest before tragedy happened.

How very sad that the negligence of a disc jockey and station owners will now cause 3 young boys to forever be without their mother. The station owners and disc jockey should be brought up on charges of capital murder, because through their direct actions caused her death.

Telling someone to ingest a gallon of water until they explode is similar to telling someone to go stand in freeway traffic for 30 seconds, regardless of what its for. Both are murder, one and the same.

why do people go to such stupid lenghts to win things. the dj should have taken the advice of the nurse during the broadcast or better still, they should have consulted a medical professional to see if drinking water in large quantities would be harmful to the body. question is 'do stupid people run stupid contests!!!!!!'
