'if Iran agrees....' our President says.

hmmm.... doesn't dialogue sometimes lead to agreement? Deaf and dumb foriegn policy doesn't work.

But Bush 'believes'. Big deal. Santa has quite the following of believers, but you don't see him actually sliding down your chimney, do you?

did anyone else notice the part of the Baker plan that called for privatizing Iraq's oil so it can be 'opened' to foreign oil corporations (ie, Baker's clients?)?? Wasn't that the real reason Bush illegally attacked the Iraqi people in the first place? Is this report just a new tail on the same old Trojan horse? Seems so.

How could we let this happen to our great and proud country?

I'm embarassed at the face George Bush puts on the presidency. He prides himself in his ignorance and his obstanacy.

He beleives as truth that which he wishes were true?

Wishes don't make reality... and wishes don't change reality.

The man's an ignorant fool.

Our presidency should represent the best and brightest, not merely the electable.

He refused to listen to the intelligence before the war, sent half the number of troops we needed, and sent them ill prepared and ill equipped for the mission they were assigned.

Then he dismantled the existing infrastructure - government, civil service and military, putting millions of Iraqis into the streets - unemployed, and well armed. (Somehow we forgot to destroy the armaments, leaving them unguarded for terrorists to pick up and use).

How could we let this happen to our great and proud country?

Oh yes, I remember, 'I'm gonna cut your taxes..' he said... and did. Of course we borrowed from the Chinese and Arabs to finance our debt, since we were no longer able to cover our bills for Bush's war out of our tax revenues.

What did you do with our tax cut? Help elect a president who's sent half a million Iraqis (mostly non-combatans) to their deaths, along with over 20,000 of our vailiant soldliers who are casualties of this war, dead, maimed and/or wounded.

How could we let this happen to our great and proud contry?

How can we avoid it in the future?

How can we dig ourselves out of this mess in Iraq, in Afganistan and the Middle East?

I'll tell you this, you don't do it with a dummy figurehead president!

If the US army (140,000 strong, plus awesome technology)plus Iraqi forces can't quell 'sectarian violence', then how will the Iraqi forces do it by themselves? Sounds like another big-time failure in the making....

At this point it no longer matters hither or thither if the U.S. stays in Iraq or not.

The whole point of the invasion was to acquire control of the Iraqi oil infrastructure. Now that U.S. corporate interests have achieved that goal, occupation of Baghdad is no longer required, nor desired.

Although the element of insurgency can contribute some minor difficulties, as long as the processing and distribution systems are in place and protected it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Business can continue uninterrupted.

The troops can now come home. They have done well in serving the bourgeois as they should.

Impeach Cheney and Bush.

Pass it on, post it everywhere on the internet and call into your local talk radio show to bring this to reality.

That's why they had a dictator... you know, maybe there's a reason why some countries don't have democracy as a political model.

Because of whatever reasons you have such sectarian/tribal problems over there and it's just so messed up that the only way you can keep order is with a very big stick and assuming the dictator role.

I read all you armchair quarterbacks and think, you're all such fools. President Bush has made tough but mostly good decisions to protect America. You're just spouting what your favorite politian says. You don't have a clue (anymore than I do) about all the facts concerning Iraq.

Iraq is complicated obviously, but if we show weakness there are those in the world who will stop at nothing to capitalize on that weakness. Their sole mission in life is to destroy America....do you get that? You sit around in your cush jobs, and take jabs at an honest man who is SAVING, yes SAVING lives by confronting the problem here and now instead of letting it get bigger and even more threatening.

We cannot live peacefully in a world with Islamo-facism. Do you understand that? We face it now, or we face it later.

Let the man do his job!

Just because the mission 'has' to succeed doesn't mean it 'will' succeed. In fact, it will be an abject failure, just like every other Bush endeavour; only this time his daddy won't be able to bail him out!

I have never seen in my 60 plus years a president that got us into the situation that we now face by lying to the american public about weapons of mass destruction in Iran and not telling the truth about the reason we wanted Iraq for its oil. Congress is also to blame for allowing this to situation to continue with american lives and Iraq being shed on the battle field. This man should of neven been allowed out of Texas. He is a canadiate for Michael Jacksons Never, never land ranch.

Unfortunately every month or so,someone comes along to Monsters and Critics, such as Jay Barbeau and spews verbal diaorrea.
Usually everyone else on the planet (except themselves) is seen as a fool, idiot, moron, ect. and using the precedent of G.W.Bush, who beieves only he can hear the 'Voice of God' guiding him on his 'Divine Mission',everyone else is Wrong! and they... but only they... are always Right!.
Just remember this.....

Yeah, let's make nice with the mullahs. Maybe we should bake them a cake like we did back in the 80's before they played us for fools. Yeah, let's legitimize a regime whose president refuses to believe there was a Holocaust and who wants to eliminate a nation and its people from the planet. We can do some 'dialog' with a guy who believes he is the One preparing the way for the 12th Imam who is about to come out of hiding after centuries. I am sure there will be some meaningful results from such negotiations. If we are to 'engage' them, then let's get it down to their level of sincerity I expect they would bring to the table. I think we should offer to sell them a bridge in Brooklyn at a real, real good discount.
