Oh yeah Andy - that is just who I want running the country. How can you mention Obama and the economy in the same sentence? He is your choice by default because that is all the left could muster up and so now you have no choice but to vote for him and keep your fingers crossed if he wins. Not me, I was in Iraq and I saw first hand what Iran is up to.You can bury your head in the sand but the only thing those religious fanatics understand is force and strength. If you don't like women in government than perhaps Iran is where you should move to.
This sure will be an interesting 2 months.
The US public watched CNN and MSNBC ridicule this woman for the last few days and that actually helped her. It underscored the main contrast she presented - that she is the one with executive decision making experience - and not obama.
Now the pundits are back tracking. Its funny to watch. The dems are trying hard to say she was a meanie, but I don't think it will work.
She is clearly a 'happy warrior.' Those are the toughest to beat.
Obama, the smart orator with no decision making skills is still set to be the next president, but now he has a race on his hands.

The more I read from the right wing loonies who support this ticket, the more I believe they don’t really care about America.
sp4 - funny, that is exactly what Lieberman accuses his dems of....
They want to win, no matter what damage it does in further dividing this country.
sp4 - like I said...
They have no real ideals or morality,
sp4 - we're the one's who think cutting a baby being born out of the womb is repugnant, remember? Also, generatiing a defeat in Iraq to get elected...
and will pander to the lowest common denominator in order to do so.
sp4 - see 'lieberman'
Eight years of Republican rule has left us weakened in reputation,
sp4 - our relations with aour allies are at an all time high
economy,
sp4 - record setting
power,
sp4 - preeminant wolrd power
sp4 - and moral authority.
sp4 - from a party with no morals
Why anyone would continue this I have no idea.
sp4 - because we wish not to have a neophyte boy-king, nominated simply because he's black, and a tired, old, obstructionist, plagerizing apparatachick libnazi favored over a person who got 18 million votes, for the same reasons.
To those saying that the GOP is dividing this country, newsflash, it's been divided for quite a few years already.
Palins has the right idea about opening up the state of Alaska for more drilling. Only a few people get to see the beauty of it anyway so what good is it? It is like the opposite of the 'bridge to nowhere' which only would've benefited a few people. Drilling in Alaska will benefit the masses and we can keep driving our SUV'S and enjoy the luxury. The beauty will return once the oil is depleted and we abandon the operation.
It shouldn’t be a surprise or a shook to anyone; this is what you expect from the same aged politics.
Senator Hilary Clinton didn’t come to Washington with Miss Congeniality on her resume; she came with proposals and an agenda. She didn’t take the elevator to the penthouse to crack the “glass ceiling”, she climbed each step with determination, pain, and a commitment to change American possibilities. She didn’t get a pat on the back promotion to the top, she got there in a fair fight that at times was grueling and difficult…and you know what, I think she kinda wanted it that way. She will not make it into our history books as the first, fast track, overnight, success into the finish, but she carved a remarkable legacy from the starting line to the last stretch. And for that, I will always be proud of her achievements.
Senator Mcain still does not “get it”. This is not a popularity contest for homecoming king and queen. This is a Presidential Election for the United States of America . This isn’t about winning the election; it is about changing the future of a Powerful Nation.
People DO realize that this speech was *written for her*, right? All she did was deliver it...that doesn't make her a formidable candidate by any means. So she can read a speech from a teleprompter well. Big deal. The real test will be on her feet with Biden in a debate. I have no doubt she will come off as the mediocrity that she is.
Palin as a conservative, effective mom? I thought effective moms helped keep their unwed daughters from getting knocked up. I thought that only liberals were sexually promiscuous, and that conservative, value oriented girls kept their virginity until they got married. I realize now that I had the wrong impression of 'conservatives'. Or maybe her big belly is God's gift to this young girl, and she really is still a virgin.
A smug, sarcastic speech, with lots of vitriol. The republicans sure are angry. Angry at the media. Angry at the left. Angry at the government. Do they realize that they've been in charge for the last 8 years?
DISABLED CHILD HERO?????
Palin's acceptance of a disabled child is just
one more marketing tool for her. Parents who
have one disabled child and care for them day
by day, show them love, often giving up their
own careers and financial security are my heroes.
Palin doesn't have to deal with the anguish and
heartache and effort in dealing with such a child.
bev star: You are so right.
It is amazing how her pregnant daughter is 'off limits to the public', but her disabled child is plastered all over the media like spaghetti thrown on a wall.
You are also right that Palin has chosen to have a job where she has no time for her family and can get away from her disabled child.
Palin is just another hypocrite politician.
Oh goody, a 'hockey mom.' An almost hilarious follow up to an administration that went to war to see if a government would break out.....
Sarah Palin mentioned that our men and women in the military would fight to defend us and maybe die by putting the country before themselves. It may be patriotic for her son to go to Iraq but I wonder what she would say if he came home in a coffin for defending Halliburton and the careless decisions this administration has made.
Her son's in the military, her young daughter is pregnant and unmarried and supposedly marrying her young boyfriend, she has a special needs baby, she was a PTA pres., beauty queen, tough as nails, basketball star, governor - WOW, she brings it all, now let's see what she can do in debates when she can't read the prepared speech. The cute remarks and the pursing, I'm-so-clever lips need some serious plans behind them. It's all well and good to state she's not going to Washington to fit in - well, she better rethink that little statement. There are alot of people she'll need to fit in with in order to have cooperation.
It will be a just nation when the right to have an abortion is made illegal and the alley doctors are once again working overtime, that will create jobs right here in America.
I heard her speech last night. She didnt mention anything about the current economy. As if she doesnt care about all these people losing their homes due to higher taxes and tax cuts for the upper class. why should she care? She even made fun of the global warming efforts. Isnt it sad? how can a so called educated woman make fun of global warming? that screams ignorant. very sad speech.
Go stand on the street corner and spout out all your so-called statistics about how good the economy is - inform the public, SP, and see how long you'd stand upright!
According to Ann Kilkenny, a Democrat who observed City Council, Palin also brought up the idea of banning some books at one meeting, but did not follow through with the idea
It was a dull an boring speech with programmed pauses for the less than exiting applause. The camera showed who was excited and who were not. The drunk ones had fun. The older women in the crowd were either clapping politely or were not and had looks of concern.
During her second term as mayor, Palin hired the Anchorage-based lobbying firm of Robertson, Monagle & Eastaugh to lobby for $15 million for a rail project linking Wasilla and the ski resort community of Girdwood. Some of the earmarks were criticized by Senator McCain.
In regards to a proposed natural-gas pipeline she said, 'I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built.'
