Typical republican't dribbleSep 4th, 2008 - 14:38:23

Great speech, filled with nothing except mis-information. The bridge to nowhere lie, nothing about what they are going to do about the economy, nothing about Afghanistan, nothing filled with nothing. The right wing is easily lead after having GWB pulling them down for 8 years, not hard to go up when you are on the bottom.

Kudos to McCain for picking Palin. This speech was the first opportunity most for most of us to get to know her. But the speech left me thinking that I was at a high school prep rally where Palin was leading the chant, 'McCain's got character, McCain's got class, call him the First Maverick or he'll kick your...' Oh, yeah, that and if you dont vote for us we'll all end up in a gulag. Who would you rather have with you? That and, we'll all die. This election is a life or death decision, you know? And McCain has seen 'evil.' In Putin's eyes, no doubt. Changing the politics of fear, hate and vilification? Yeah, my regret is that she didnt write the speech so we dont know any more about her now that we did before. I was hoping for more, for signs of change. But instead I concluded that even maverick, rebellious marionettes cannot cut the strings of their puppetmasters.

Typical right wing dribble from the same idiots who voted for Bush twice! The only way this liberal feels 'stuffed' from last night was from taking in all the BS. The liberals and the media are scared of this 15 watt dim wit? PLEASE! She is an outsider?! She was picked to solidify the same American Taliban Christian base who have been running this country into the ground for the past decade. But somehow in your feeble pro-bush mind sets you call her a an outsider? God you people are unbelievably stupid. You right wing Christians area curse on this country and this planet.

An impressive speech by Mrs. Palin to her Base. This has wittingly or unwittingly confirmed the following:

Strong rhetoric remained short on specifics or any credible solution to America's problems of today and years to come.

Youthful and pleasant appearance with smiles lost its appeal with excessive sarcasm and cheapshots. She has a right to that as a politicians. Consequently, is that an approach for 'reform'/ Not even in dreams. She shortchanged her own potential message.

Her claims and wish fo rsympathetic view on her credibility via the terms defining her as 'Hockey Mom' and 'PTA memebr or leader' and grass-roots fighter in Alaska may be good fo rher. This i scompletely lost immediately after she ridiculed 'community organizer'. Guess what? By hating media, news and shying away from people or reality, she missed the point by following the speech-writer rhetoric that she herself practiced the skills of being an organizer in her community.

Mrs. Palin constantly reminded of G.W. Bush. A pretty face, telling what the crowd wants hear and going on and on with feeding frenzy may be natural behaviors in her base, but this is precisely what the 'establishment' is.

The closeness or coziness to oil and energy businesses does not make her a maverick even after establishing certain contracts or facilities in Alaska. That is the establishment. Remember in 2000 and 2004, those who claimed 'knowing something about the oil industry and energy' are the ones who escalated the energy crisis. Thus, Mrs. Palin may bring on, yet again, the realities of Bush.

McCain camp completely failed in convincing this independent voter to trust McCain-Palin or the RNC to look at them for credible change. They are just not tuned to the needs and urgency that America faces. Mrs. Palin's performance was a successful stage-craft, ensured by the Establishment. It encouraged and instilled confidence for me to look at Barack Obama and his plain talk, trustworthiness and enabled me to make a donation for the first time. I am sure than many independent voters, who think for themselves in the best interest of our nation will do what I did.

That was easily the most worthless speech I've ever seen in my life. If it were given by a man, everybody would be yawning today. What issues did she discuss? How many lies did she speak? Why is nobody interested in researching what she said and seeing if they can find any truth to it?

It's great that she wants to help kids with special needs, but come on, she'll have more time to advocate for children if she is not Vice President. It's wonderful to want to build jobs, but not if she counts 'going to war' as a great American industry. It's noble that she wants to fight the terrorists but not if she has such an unrealistic view of the current events that she thinks Senator Obama supports the terrorists.

She's a dillusional lunatic. That's what I learned about Palin last night. She has no wisdom or grasp of politics or current events and I am perplexed as to why she ever accepted the nomination or was asked to run in the first place.

Cutting corporate taxes for the remaining 25% of corportations that pay any income taxes- is a change we can believe in.

Getting rid of all workers unions for police, teachers, munincipal employees, etc.- is a change we can believe in.
Re-writing the Constitution to mandate only bible study in schools- is a change we can believe in.
Educating kids on the facts about creationism- like the world being built in six days, 7000 years ago, and denouncing the myths of so called dinosaurs that never really existed- is a change we can believe in.
Keep it in the closet for log cabin republican gays-is a change we can believe in.
Personal and state rights are sacred, except when we need a National Constitutional Amendment to ban any and all abortions- is a change we can believe in.

Palin delivered the speech very well. She delivered it exactly as written and scripted by McCain's campaign writers with probably zero input from her. The hours of rehearsing with McCain's compaign staff paid-off. But one huge question remains, 'Where's the meat?' If there was any substance to the speech I missed it due to the thick covering of sarcasm.

The Dems think that Obama is another JFK, but he isn't. JFK, and now the GOP, said, 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.' But that's not what Obama asks. Obama wants you to tell him your needs and then he will take care of them . . . while cutting the taxes for 95% of us. Wow, how does he intend to do that. In order to do that he will have to tax our employers out of the country and tax his friend Oprah to the point that she will have less then his magical $250k line.

Me, I don't need Obama to tuck me into bed. I want employers that can afford to compete here im America. I want Leaders that have proven that their they put others first and not themself ( Obama is just in his fourties and has two autobiographies already, talk of conceit). And as for McCains saying that rich is maybe 5 million, well he also said that he wants us all to be rich.

I agree with Jeff. And this wasn't a speech particularly with substance - a speech written by speech writers, and she delivered it well. I'm really getting tired of the old remarks about the bridge to nowhere. She isn't really portraying the way it was exactly - she was all for it, then it got shot down, then she decided she wasn't for it. Also the soccer mom, PTA president,small-town mayor speech is running thin.

THE salient economic issue in the country is increasing the supply of consistent reasonably-costed quickly-available energy. In that regard, she has more knowledge and personal experience than ANY of the other three candidates. And more executive experience than the Dem ticket combined.

The Founding Fathers envisioned real citizens running the country, not out-of-touch career hacks like Biden or prettyboy elitists like Obama with less executive experience or military connections than the ants in my back yard.

In chess, they would call this An Inspired Great Move.

..from what we can see, it's running just fine. Accusing politicians of using speechwriters is like accusing race car drivers of using someone else's fuel.

No, the girl has game and the dems thought the GOP would pick a tired old apparatachick like Cheney, for Biden to run against, but they got caught flatfooted, with unexpeced ease.

The more I read from the right wing loonies who support this ticket, the more I believe they don’t really care about America. They want to win, no matter what damage it does in further dividing this country. They have no real ideals or morality, and will pander to the lowest common denominator in order to do so. Eight years of Republican rule has left us weakened in reputation, economy, power, and moral authority. Why anyone would continue this I have no idea.

The media can not stand it that a woman who is NOT a liberal has apparently learned how to be an effective Mom and a successful governor. Mrs. Palin is much more like the 'average' working woman in America than Hillary Clinton who bounces around in her limo with her personal hairdresser! I think Mrs. Palin is a real person NOT a plastic politican who never says anything until he/she gets staff approval. And she is far more experienced than the out of touch individual who refuses to answer questions because they are 'above my pay grade.' SHE has made decisions which count and did not vote 'present' as Mr. Obama did. The people who are blindly following this man better wake up and see what his plans will do - higher gas prices (b/c he opposes any off shore drilling) and higher taxes for entitlement programs. And the taxes will affect everyone not just the ones whose incomes are taxed. How do they think businesses are going to keep going unless they pass their increased costs to the consumer? This race is about choices NOT change!

McCain's choice of Palin proves him incompetent and reckless. McCain had only met with Palin one time before he chose her to be his running mate. His staff had not vetted her. And yet he chose her to be a 72-76 year old heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States of America. McCain's poor judgement mirrors that of Bush's. Palin (and all republicans), continue to give big oil ownership of America, your wallet, and eventually your mortgage. Not to mention the fact that conservative republicans despise the Constitution of the United States, (not that Americans really care about small details like that - their main concern is being able to afford milk right now.)

Liberals crack me up!! They change with the wind. Now the feminist left says if you have children you should stay home! Did Pelosi or Clinton stay home and raise their kids over their long career? Get real, this is 2008 - the only women staying home and not working are drunks or drug addicts. Oh yes, because of this election coverage I no longer buy newspapers, magazines, or watch the network news. They simply puke up what their owners tell them to. So much for free press.(If I must watch some news it will be Fox!!!)

How can one of the two major parties in the greatest nation on earth nominate someone like Sarah Palin who has minimal formal education or knowledge of how economies and markets and political systems work!!

Vice Presidency is not about hockey, pregnancy, shooting guns or a white bearded 'God' etc...

how does she stack up against an Angela Merkel or Margaret Thatcher?

Could she have come up in life the way Ronald Regan, Bill Clinton or even Barack obama did?

What she's talking is high school kid stuff...

God save America...meanwhile somebody please give her some tutorials ..and let's hope that if Mc Cain gets elected, he lives long ..God bless him.. thiws woman is pure disaster -- worse than Geraldine Ferraro..

The liberals are attacking Gov. Palin becausing she is a working mother, a reformer, and hadn't dedicated her life to becoming President. A true breath of fresh air and a much needed Change in Washington! The liberals are jealous and hypocritical...and I am so angry at the way they have reacted to her nomination that I will never vote for another Democrat again. The GOP has won me over.
