So stop blaming all white Americans (many which of us come from slaves as well and weren\'t even LIVING in American during the time of slavery) for your inability to succeed in life. I had no part in that past and do not appreciate having MY taxes raised to pay off the debts of someone else\'s grandparents. And lest you forget it, America\'s history and present are unique. Many Jamaicans and European blacks have moved here as well and were never the decendants of \'American Slaves\' so your case and your concerns, though valid, are impossible to rectify. I really think the U.S. should reevaluate their position on who is a terrorist and who is not a terrorists.
Fleets of cruise missiles, laser guided bombs and ICBMs invoke terror. If you keep an open mind and watch a little T.V. you will find out that the U.S. glorifies such things with T.V. series on the latest and greatest weapons. The U.S. worships their weapons technology and is a society of death.

There is plenty of wiggle room for Obama, but I think 'deeds' here is code for, well, cash. And if so, it would not be totally inconsistent with those many sermons and messages of Jeremiah Wright Obama apparently missed while faithfully attending and supporting the Trinity United Church of Christ for a scant couple of decades.
Among Wright's accomplishments are being keynote speaker at the advocacy group group N'COBRA (National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America) in 2007. We can only assume that this was the Jeremiah Wright that Obama 'doesn't know.' (I mean it's bad enough that John Edwards sees 2 Americas... Obama sees 2 Wrights.) The Wright that escaped the brilliant Obama's notice for 20 years is the one who delivered the talk 'A Call for Justice and Repair' in which the foundational tenet was that
'the Biblical principal of true repentence is that the offended party is given compensation to make up for that which has been stolen from them, the losses that have been inflicted upon them and their families.'
(I hate to quibble with the noted theologian, but the Biblical principle of true repentence has to do with the heart of the offender and little if anything to do with the financial condition of the offended. This must be the same bible that included transgender rights in the Sermon on the Mount.)
In addition to Wright, apparently one of the jivin' high fivin' congregants in total agreement with this principal is one Dr. Iva Carruthers. She is a self-declared active member of the church, self-declared advocate of reparations and more importantly, an 'Obama-declared' member of Obama's African American Religious Leadership Committee. (We are not sure who heads up McCain's White Religious Leadership Committee).

We can't dwell on the past - look at the Indians if you want to apologize and help a people. What about all the Japanese who were imprisoned in the U.S. after the bombing of Pearl Harbor? The list could go on and on. All we can do is live in the present - the past is gone and can't be changed, and the future isn't ours yet.

american politicians run to these things when issues that frighten them are looming, like Fannie May, or Health care, or Taxes, or, heaven forbid, success in Iraq. It's far easier to wax on about slavery that no longer exists than face the pressing slavery problem in the world today.
This is also a good issue to illustrate the fauning, sychophantic relationship the liberal elite has with it's propaganda arm, the mainstream liberal media. After all of this, not a word about the pressing slavery that exists TODAY, yet Bush commits ONE slight and they'll drag it on for a week.
Fortunately, those press outlets are losing a whole generation of readers and listeners, plus a fortune to boot. THe LA Times let go 11% of it's journalism staff recently. Cuts totaling 25% are coming.
People are turning to the computer for their up-to-date news, so naturally papers are losing out. The main priority right now should be the worsening economy- period!
i feel that the us government should pay all the decedants of slavery. slavery has a big impact on how thw white people veiw us. we are still being consider second class citizens, i feel that we are entitle to the same compensation that the jews and american indians have recieved. our schools still do not teach about all the accomplisements that we have given to this country. hooray for Obama
