Sorry, Tonny, this is still 'over the horizon'.

When they build the plant and start selling the batteries, I'll buy it. Till then, I will continue to base my decisions on what we have on hand. Waiting around for stuff like this will NOT work. Something needs to be done TODAY, not tomorrow.

SP4: here's the best partDec 29th, 2007 - 22:15:50

80% (maybe) of the green house gases produced in the US comes from industrial (coal) output.

This means, the other 20% (maybe) is produced from autos.

This being the case, a 20% reduction in auto emissions equals a grand total of 4% over all.

Now, ask yourself this: If coal is used to produce the electricity that powers these so-called 'green' cars...what savings has been produced?

A comparably sized current genration auto diesel actually produces less greenhouse gas than a hybrid, sans the soot.

See why we are leery of the 'grenn' movement?

The big problem with burning fuels extracted or made from petroleum is that it invariably puts money in the pockets of those who are enemies of the United States. The problem with burning coal is NOT the carbon dioxide, but the mercury vapor that comes from the combustion of coal. Very few coal beds are free of mercury contamination. Unlike the other toxic metals found in coal, mercury ACCUMULATES in the environment. Oh, and 'clean coal' isn't.

It's well past time for us to start replacing coal-fired plants with nuclear plants and for the sake of National Security, we are here talking about 'Clear and Present Dangers', we MUST greatly reduce our use of crude oil for the production of transportation fuels.

THose looking for nuclear plants as an alternative source of cheap energy are sticking their ginger in their eye;Uranium prices follow the price of oil al along, supplies are limited to another 5 years at most ,and so the price of the radioactive stuff will even raise tenfold withing two decades...and you said something about cheap energy ?That is what corporate bizness id telling you on behalf of their profits;not your costs.
