Passengers face ongoing train delays

(M&C) - Rail passengers are set to endure a third day of train delays and disruptions as engineering work continues on the West Coast Mainline. Network Rail has announced the work at Rugby between Birmingham International and Northampton will continue for at least another day causing an outbust from Virgin Trains chief executive, Tony Collins, whose company uses the line. "This has been a fiasco and our customers expect and deserve better," he said. "We are pleased that the Office of Rail Regulation is investigating this urgently and we must ensure we never have a repeat of the last few days."Virgin Trains has recommended its passengers not use the link between London and Birmingham unless absolutely necessary. Network Rail, which was fined £2.4 million last year for failing to complete a signalling scheme at Portsmouth on time, now faces a similar hefty fine.
