I think you have to quite sorry for this young man and the terrible way in which he was butchered at the hands of the British police , quite terrible the way he was murdered but even more terrible the way the people & organization responsible have covered their tracks and ducked their responsibilities , the commissionaire Blair is exactly like the politician Blair , a man without good reputation and a complete stranger to truth / honesty and any form honour
.Instead he is their publicly flaunting & bullying his underlings into accepting blood money ( bonuses ) one can clearly see we would be better off with his deputy a man of integrity far superior to his boss
I must admit that I am supprised. Supprised that yet another cover up didn't work! So will the half million or so be covered by a whip round or will the public pay? This is a total waste of time and money. The poor man's family should waste no more time with british 'justice', get the case to the european courts! No liability by an individual? What rubbish, what utter tosh and to compound it those who killed are now back on the streets of London. It is a very sad day for Britain when the 'authorities' can't be trusted! 'I'm not resigning' said Blair, well he shouldn't have the chance to resign, he should be fired! Dick should go as well, just beacause she was the officer in charge otherwise what point is there in her role? Of course she's been promoted, how do the sensitive souls who arranged the promotion think this will be seen by the dead man's family?
So the failed Police Commissioner is clinging on to power with his fingernails and refusing to resign - what a surprise. Is he glued to his desk awaiting his six-figure bonus for this monumental failure? Does he not realise that he has completely and utterly lost the public confidence in both HIM and his Force. He is clearly proving to be as slippery as his political namesake, but he went in the end.
This was a complete and utter cock-up. Someone should be on trial for manslaughter. I suspect that the police (including senior officers and Commissioner) have told lies, and are continuing to tell lies in order to cover up the gross negligence which led to an innocent man being shot dead. It was lucky no other innocent people were shot by the police that day - they were clearly a law unto themselves.
