Can Brown be really surprised by this debacle? He clobbers the most vulnerable in society for a nasty increase in income tax, while allowing those on higher incomes to pay less. Not so noticeable in the news lately is the fact that he has clobbered family cars for another nasty increase in road tax, while letting the wealthy off the hook regardig any rises at all in their tax. In the local elections he has been given a well-deserved drubbing and unless he rapidly reverses some of these measures he is heading for the dustbin of political oblivion. I suspect he is too arrogant and pig-headed to take any notice of the British people, but will continue to be a rather unpleasant control freak.

The much flawed human rights act. The refusal to have a referendum on the EU. The hideous pension and stealth taxes. Cronyism etc etc etc.
Treat the British public with contempt and they will show you their contempt Mr Brown.

Forgot to mention immigration. If you want to see an indiginous Briton really angry just mention immigration.
