Indeed military rule is not good for any country but in the case of Bangladesh let's apply Sk. Hasina's points objectively and with real data on how the elected governments have performed.
Point 1
'The unconstitutional governments used the administration and the country's institutions at their sweet will,' said the premier, Hasina,
=> Hon. Hasina in less than 100 days has arbitrarily replaced university VCs, heads of govt. corporations, sent senior bureaucrats to obscurity and replaced them with her own supporters. Can the govt publish the list with bios/backgrounds of all new and past organizational heads?
Point 2
Transparency and accountability was not established in the administration because of military rules, which resulted in lack of development in the country, Hasina added.
=> Can a reputable pollster publish a poll on people's opinion about accountability of the past govt and the current govt? Let's also wait for Transparency International's next score card on Bangladesh.
Talk is cheap but judgements based on real evidence is hard. Democracy in BD have so far brought only elected dictators to power for 6 year stretches. Suggest half the members of parliament be elected every 2 years for a 4 year period. Will bring some check and balance.
