The death of King Mohammed Zahir Shah of Afghanistan makes me very sad. His country is still suffering from the aftermaths of the revolution against the monarchy. The Western politicians couldn’t find a way out of the crisis, instead they keep sending more troops to Afghanistan. There is no concept for the Afghan future, and it is obvious that Mr. Karzai is not the person who can unify the country. In the eyes of many Afghans Mr. Karzai is only president in name, because they regard him as an instrument of the Americans. The situation has deteriorated in recent months. What Afghanistan needs is not more troops under the US command, but a really unifying figure: A KING!!
The best he could do to keep the Taliban forces at bay is to declare Crown Prince Ahmad Shah Khan next King of Afghanistan.
