From Monsters and Critics.com US News Phoenix, Arizona - Police on Friday said they arrested two serial killers who have terrorized the sixth largest city in the US for more than a year. Police named the suspects as Dale Hausner and Samuel Dieteman, saying they were 'confident these are the individuals involved' in the 'Serial Shooter' killings that started in May 2005. The shooting spree killed six people and wounded 18. 'These are the two monsters we've been hunting,' Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon said at a news conference. Assistant Police Chief Kevin Robinson said that Hausner, 33, and Dieteman, 31, chose their victims at random. The most recent killing occurred on Sunday when a 22-year-old woman was fatally shot as she was walking from her parents' home to her boyfriend's house, authorities said. Most of the victims were either walking or riding bikes when they were shot from a passing car. Despite the arrests, police warned that another serial killer called the 'Baseline Killer' remained at large. He is believed to have killed seven women and one man since last September in Phoenix and its environs. © 2006 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur© Copyright 2003 - 2005 by monstersandcritics.com.
