Two dozen pro-Moussavi reporters arrested in Tehran

Tehran - Iranian police have arrested 25 reporters working for opposition leader Mir-Hossein Moussavi, the Moussavi camp said Wednesday. Police on Monday raided the office of Moussavi's banned Kalameh-Sabz newspaper and arrested 25 reporters on orders from Tehran's General Prosecutor office. The official news agency IRNA reported that according to a police statement, the banned office was a centre for 'psychological war' against the country and in contact with dissident media and foreign circles. The Kalameh-Sabz reporters are believed to have continued working for the two Moussavi websites Kalameh and Ghalam-News. IRNA said that five of the detained female reporters have already been released but interrogations were underway with the other arrested reporters. The local press is only allowed to report authorized versions of the protests against alleged election fraud, and the international press is not allowed to attend protest demonstrations and gatherings.
