RE: Among the disputed points in the agreement is the immunity of the US troops in Iraq.

Ahhh, herein lies the difference: Iraqi justice will always be separate and foreign to American justice. The cultures have too many opposing views. Good luck in the future.

If Iraq doesn't agree to America's terms, then fine. Bring our troops home January 1st. We'll see if Iraq can agree to al qaeda's terms when we leave.

Looks to me like the Iraqis have the Bush administration over a barrel. I think the Iraqis would be very happy to let the next 1 1/2 months pass by without a SOFA in place. Come Jan 1, after the UN mandate expires, the Iraqis can simply say, US out. Bush/Cheney have no recourse other than covert or other illegal means to say in the country. Bush/Cheney have to walk away with nothing to show for all of the pain they have caused. IMHO, that's good. The Iraqis have not signed any PSAs, nothin'. Bush/Cheney sure screwed up their end game.
