Hamas says bomb planter killed in Gaza City explosion (Roundup)

Gaza - The Islamic Hamas said Friday an blast outside an internet cafe in Gaza City was the work of a religious zealot, who was killed when the bomb he planted exploded prematurely. Sources in the Hamas-run Gaza Interior Ministry said the perpetrator had apparently wanted to destroy the internet cafe for religious reasons. There were no other casualties form the explosion, which took place when the cafe was closed. Heavy damage was caused to the building. The Interior Ministry sources meanwhile said Hamas security forces have arrested three Palestinians, who they said were members of the rival Fatah movement and were responsible for planting a bomb at the residence of Hamas member of parliament Marwan Abu Ras in Gaza City. The bomb exploded Thursday night without causing any damage or injury and the security forces were able to arrest the person who planted the bomb and who confessed to being sent by two others, who were later arrested, the sources said.
