'Obama's Iraq remarks show move to centre'

???

Obamas remarks show a completely incoherent policy on Iraq that is subject to whims and pandering but NOT the wishes and advice of the generals and officers fighting this war. Obama might get off his rear end and go there to find out that incredible progress has been made in our war against islamist terrorists in Iraq.

'McCain, picking up on the increasing anti-war mood in the country, himself has moved away from his primary campaign pledge to keep troops in Iraq for 100 years if necessary, saying he would remove most troops by 2013.'

McCain never pledged to keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years. This is just more shoddy 'journalism'...eer scratch that. This is more of the european press pulling for their preferred candidate because they recognize Obama is week and therefore more likely to be lead around by the nose in order to be 'liked' by people who never do anything but complain. In terms of the 'increasing anti-war mood, most Americans believe we are doing well in Iraq and should finish the job there.

Well one Maryland Democrat who was an HRC supporter may be happy to see BO trying to morph into Hillary or Bill, but I can assure you that there are many of us at Puma Pac who knew that HRC was the better candidate all along and to see BO adopt her positions only makes us angrier and even more intent on fighting him.

This Flip-flopping doesn't look good. I hope Obama gets better advising because he's our only real hope to turn away from war and facism and recover from a gutted economy.

Maybe candidates in past elections in whom we didn't have so much hope in anyway could move toward the center and not anger their power base, but Obama has presented poignant hope in a time of true global crisis.

Moving toward the centre may not help his chances at all - His flip-flopping will destroy the expressed hope of billions globally while having to fight through pre-existing skepticism, now heightened by this very act of flip-flopping, to get to the targetted middle and right-wingers being courted.

At this point, though he is far and away the best chance for survival of this democracy and the health of this Earth, he is taking plays from old, tired politics that quietly played out to old, stale audiences; he looks like a politian now, which automatically means hope is out the window.

Well, we can always hope he'll be a better president than candidate. And we do.

Dear Mandacious Shrub,

It is important to think things all the way through before acting or speaking, especially in these critical times. HRC emotionally flipped so many times during the nominations we'd be at war with the whole world by the time she got through. How can you watch her unprofessionalism and hisse-fits and still suggest she'd be a good president?

Here's the test - now think about how Hillary cried and threatened generally acted a fool this year - would you want a person who did what she did toward Obama babysitting your kids, or your elderly, or representing you in court?

Look, HRC got in on the name brand only - but she is no Bill. She may want good things for America. If a person believes that and supports McCain I say they were a Fools and traitor to their own welfare and the welfare of others.

Imagine a poor person who need a job, healthcare and an end to this war that is sucking 12 billion a month out of the ecoonomy. Imagine he has found oout that our Earth is facing a real crisis of survival. Imagine this person has learned that in his name our great young men and women have been sent to kill and die based on a calculated lie. Now imagine this economically challenged US citizen who knows somewhere inside that she has been tricked and lied to, registers Republican and knowingly supports her own demise.

Now imagine a person with the sense enough to recognize the party of hope registers Republican and supports her own demise. Isn't that like the same thing?

- Forget Party Unity, how about common sense and self-preservation?

I would hate to think what Obama or any politician said was written in stone. There should be room for some change when something is given more thorough scrutiny and depending on the situation at the time. We need to be wary of people who can't be a little flexible.

Obama's gone establishment on his supporters which just goes to show that, once again, there's nobody worth voting for in this stupid democracy fallacy. Nothing will change. Same old same old dinky dao, mama san...

So what's the use? Elections, after all, are costly affairs. Why not just skip the whole pointless process, dig up some corpse, and make HIM president. Hire Sheen to mouth the corpse's speeches and look presidential as he stomps about the rose garden.

Same old same old dinky dao, mama san...

Would anybody notice?

Nah...
