As international pressure mounts on Iran their leaders are beginning to finally feel the heat; So much so in fact that their latest tirade of verbal abuse directed at Israel and the west is beginning to sound more like the discourse of a dying mercenary. The only words coming out of Iran at the moment are words such as Revenge, Death and War, etc.
Such words are not the words one would expect from politicians or religious leaders rather one would expect such words to come from people who are either ignorant or illiterate. It begs the question, Did the Iranian revolution do anything to advance the cause of Iranian progress? or did they fall into an abyss of darkness from which there is no way out.
It seems to me that the Ayatollahs and other leaders of Iran would do themselves and their country a favour if they went back to school and actually learned something usefull for a change.
Is it possible that somehow Islam is designed to bring morons into power while the smart, the educated and the conscientious are only allowed to pray for their salvation. I don't believe such is the case. More than likely the people of Iran were looking the other way when these Ayatollahs somehow managed to get into power.
But at the end of the day its the people of Iran who are currently facing death and destruction while it's a guarantee their leaders will be safe in exile when the bombs finally drop.
Time to wake up Iran; Please do something about your leaders, they are killing you.
At about this time 'marge' usually chimes in that zionists are land grabbing murderous nazis...
Marge?
'Such words are not the words one would expect from politicians or religious leaders rather one would expect such words to come from people who are either ignorant or illiterate.'
Yeah, that sounds like US/UK/EU right there.
I'm still trying to find out why anyone would attack Iran except to suck off more taxpayer dollars, brown-nose AIPAC and give BP a new stab at regaining its lost Persian Legacy.
That must be one of those hilariously silly Arabic proverbs that just doesn't translate - unless the revered general was high on hashish at the time.
'Yeah, that sounds like US/UK/EU right there. '
Donulvi Dolam is in Australia - try holding the atlas the other way up.
To Tony Bliar:
Ain't democracy great, it even allows people like you and me who are really quite ignorant of world events except for what we are told by politicians and the media, to have our say. Iranians don't have that choice because they have no real democracy.
I am not a fool, Mr Bliar. I do my research, I read and study and am in constant contact with both iranians and others who quite frankly tell me the situation in Iran is actually worse than what we are told.
I don't place the politics of other nations in front of my face like horse blinds and I certainly do not have some kind of political tunnel vision; What I do have is morals, a sense of value and traditional catholic beliefs that quite frankly tell me the situation in Iran is wrong and leading all of us towards BIG trouble.
However I congratulate you for having the moral certitude to speak up and be counted. At least if it all goes wrong we can sleep soundly knowing we done our best with what little resources we have at our disposal.
I don't know about you sir but I guarantee you will hear more of me.
That anyone coming to Iran was going to steal their disabled prosthetics. Or at least buy them all up and export them. I was thinking that top weirdo might be implicated...Marilyn Manson.
AHA, let them talk there crap. They know they will end up on the bad end of a good ass kicking in a fight. Irans nuclear program is still in its early stages as where the US has been going strong sense the 40's, no contest.
Dolam, you really do not have contact with actual Iranians, do you? You know that the only thing your average Iranian likes less than the Revolutionary Government is meddling from outside. No Persian wants this.
I doubt Iran's generals are 'feeling the heat'. A US attack on Iran will have disastrous consequences. And all of this for a country with a population the size of Massachusetts that is calling the shots in Washington DC. When are we going to dump these arrogant cretins once and for all? This 'we are the baddest asses on the planet' crap will, I think, come up and bite us on the rear end if we attack Iran. Many credible people, including William Lind, have pointed out that such an attack could mean the end of the US Army in Iraq. With a carrier or two at the bottom of the Gulf or, at the very least, thousands of casualties among navy, army and marine units, things could swing way out of control.
'She Who Must Be Obeyed' (Israel) is yet again leading us by the horses' bit in our mouth to do her bidding in yet another Middle East catastrophe in the offing. And, yet again, the latest Hitler of the Month Club Selection is being used to tell us all that, Yikes! Hitler is back. An ideology that has been dead for over half a century is once again being used as the Big Boogeyman to justify yet another insane expansion of Operation Provide Targets. (Yep, them Nazis just don't go away, do they?) Sometimes I wonder just where the warlovers would be without the Nazi Germany of the past.
Anyway, Iran is not Iraq, and this arrogance that we can do whatever we please just because we can may be headed for a hard fall.
You know, this 'ass kicking' nonsense is so like the yahoos leading the charge from their sofas. Some care should be taken before declaring victory so soon. For one thing, comparing nuclear capabilities is absurd on the face of it, as if one should be proud of being able to incinerate millions of innocent people. There is a glaring lack of common sense about all this heavy breathing for another war.
Israel has never fought a first class enemy. They got their asses kicked good by Hezbollah in an upfront fight in Lebanon 2 years ago. The US hasn't fought a first class enemy since WW II (OK, possibly Korea). In WW II the Germans inflicted casualties on the US at a rate of almost 3-1. When it was armor it was 5-1. There should be, I hope, a bit more reflection on what exactly we will be up against rather than the 'ass kicking' refrains coming from the bleachers.
Of course, when the shooting starts, I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. Iran will be a much tougher nut to crack, notwithstanding the rah, rah, ziss boom bah, we are the champions bull. It may come as a rude shock to us to learn that, yes, other armies can fight as well as or better than our own. Let's hope it doesn't escalate to nukes, because if it does, you'll see a whole new definition of 'blowback' against our country. Israel is not worth fighting OR dying for. Last I checked, my flag has the Stars and Stripes on it, not the Star of David. The hell with them. Pat Buchanan is right.
JJ i agree with some of what you say, the US shouldn't have to be dicking with the middle east and cleaning up, that is britain's job. The british screwed everything up after the ottomans with the sykes-picot agreement. If they had stuck to the plan in the mcmahon-hussein letters the middle east might be a very different place. The US doesn't need to be fixing britain and france's mess, but those two are more than content to act like its not there fault. At the same time we have the muscle to stomp things out before they start, we just need people making the call who don't stand to make money hand over fist. So if iran wants to fool them selfs that they have the upper hand they can do so, we have that fist that would come down on them, yes we would take loses but nowhere near on the scale as iran would. And i dont know where you are getting your numbers on WW2.
Predictions of dire, worldwide repercussions if Iran's n-facilities are attacked are the predictions of comedians and/or the predictions of paid lackeys of the regime of the damned (aka Iran).
The beneficial repercussions of the n-facility destruction will be huge, long lasting and will hopefully lead to many in the cleric-ocracy being tried, convicted and taken away to be hanged by their necks until dead.
Let freedom ring in Evilclericland and let it ring soon.
To - 'eliminate mr. bush'
Yes, I do have contact with Iranians both here at home and also in Iran.
In case you didn't know it Australia is the most multi-cultural nation on earth. Here we have freedom of speech, freedom of movement and freedom of religion as well as the freedom to speak our minds about any event that we feel might interfere with our rights as individuals.
Australia is full of Iranians, Iraqis, Turks, Greeks and so many other nationalities I can't possibly name them all but the one thing we have in common is that we all live in friendship.
For sure we have our differences but when the chips are down we stick together like glue.
That's why I don't give a hoot about what anybody has to say to me with regards Iran, my friends both here and in Iran as well as the rest of the world expect me to stick by them and that's exactly what I am doing.
Another thing I am quite willing to do (as you can see) is to put my name to everything I say. My words have meaning to me
Do yours?
