The American Republic declares War against Iran
Thru powers vested by the Citizens and Council of the American Republic, we now declare War against the Republic of Iran.
For making slanderous threats against the borders of the United States of America by President Ahmadinejad and his supporters, and the various Mullahs who hide behind the Koran like children. For making threats against the State of Israel and other countries that wish to live in peace. For instigating the elimination of Jews and others of various national and religious origin. For threatening to destroy by Nuclear force all countries that oppose its way. President Ahmadinejad wishes to fulfill a self proclaimed prophecy of stupidity. We will not allow this to happen. When the time is right, our forces will eviscerate and destroy all living things within Iran without mercy or compromise, leaving a country without people or things. The United States of America, the UN, Nato and others are weak and wish to allow this little man from Iran to shout threats with support from his Mullahs. We accept his threats and will act.
We are a Legion of many, who will live a life of peace, and have respect for all living things, while having considerations for those who are different, and look for ways to truly accommodate those who are slow in understanding.
We support the poor, helpless, and defenseless people. We support the freedom of Women, we support the sane treatment of animals and the environment, we support the freedom of religion and expression. We do not support ignorance, period.
We are a growing nation of people that encourage anyone or Nation anywhere to become part of the New American Republic!

If the event rehearsed for actually comes to happen, then we can be assured that the US is complicit, because we are the only country that could prevent it and the only country (besides our faithful Mini-me, the UK) that would cover Israel's back. This is the Cheney/Bush administration's idea of diplomacy - a gross variant of 19th Century gunship diplomacy, or an analog of Mafia intimidation of the thirties when they would cruise slowly by their victims in open touring cars, brandishing their tommy guns.

Let us step back a bit, calm down and think about it. The first thing that should hit you in the brain-pan is that news of an Israeli execise is announced by the US. Stop right there. NOBODY publically discloses exercises. Particularly if it is one as sensitive as one aimed at potentially difficult target. The bad guys get a real heads-up on any incoming. Did anybody get a heads-up about Entebbe? NO. Or the Osirak raid into Iraq? Nope, again. Or the recent raid into Syria? Would you believe, NO? The Israeli lips are tighter than a camel's blow hole in a sandstorm. They tell nothing, not even after it's done and everybody knows. This is a carefully disclosed piece of gunboat diplomacy. It is Bush and company trying their fear tactics through the news agancies. It is a pressure piece, nothing more. A person would have to be a fool to militarily go after Iran right now. Unfortunately there is one dumb enough to do it.
Iran should allow no form of intimidation or threat to deter it from getting nuclear bombs. It is time for Iran to start building nuclear bombs if it is not already doing so. Israel is a rogue state that has committed every crime possible against its arab neighbors, including violating the border boundaries of Iraq and Syria to bomb properties thought to house nuclear materials. Now, Israel is threatening to bomb Iran to stop its nuclear program. Israel wants to ensure it remains the only country in the Middle East with nuclear bombs so that it can continue its reign of terror. Iran has an obligation to get nuclear bombs to protect its people and sovereignty from the likes of Israel. In fact, Iran and the arab countries have an obligation to show Israel that its 5 or 6 million Jews do not control the Middle East or its half billion arab population.
Most of the comments are really note worthy and wise.
But the lessons of Afghanistan, Iraq and N. Korea show that a country with nuclear technology no matter how primitive, would be able to prevent itself from being attack and get the bullies to the bargaining table.
That is the alternative for the rest of the world.
To live in peace, you must go nuclear.
That would interrupt a lot of oil production. I think Bush knows that. Unless he's already sorted America to no longer depend on oil, he won't allow the attack.

It's amazing to me that a military drill by Israel is a call for open season on Israel's ass. Any other country conducting military drills would not get headlines and such harsh criticism.
Don't get me wrong, criticism is ok, and I am against a military strike in Iran, but the hypocrisy in the comments here is obvious. When Hizbollah invaded Israel's border and kidnapped soldiers, unprovoked, no one here voiced a condemnation of their action. When Israel withdrew from the Gaza strip and the Hamas repaid with daily bombings of civilian towns and cities, no one raised an outcry. It's always this single sided story. Israel is always wrong, its enemies always right. Anyone reading such a one sided stance should realize that it is an inert fallacy.
When Israel allows Palestinians to work inside Israel and get medical treatment inside Israel, that somehow doesn't appear in the descriptions of brutality that some of you use to describe its actions.
