SILENCE THE DISSIDENTS! This is ridiculous, Israel is about as democratic as communist China.
Its amazing how any body Jewish or not cannot say the truth about how the Zionists are running Israel,even when you live there and I have been told that they punish those that live there with taking away there jobs and right to certain membership of various organisations.Now what a beautiful country to live in where everyone must have the same idealizm.I have said time time again there is no difference between fascism and Zionism.
You cannot talk to a Zionist ,they think they are right even when the UN has them for violating such acts of injustce on international laws.They are a world on to there own and will stop at nothing to take all the land they want regardless of who they kill even Israelis. The people of Israel must stand up to these forces of evil and give back what does not belong to them. Then and only then will the road to peace begin.The other way would mean the genocide of a people, and where in the anals of history of we heard that before.

Israel claims it is the 'only democracy in the middle East'
They simply forgot that 'Democracy'includes freedom of speech and ideas.
So they refuse Finkelstein Entry on the grounds of a 'security threat'
this is the tactics the zionists have been using for ages.Some 35 years ago they wanted to silence a group of Anti Zionist israelis so they arrested 40 people calling the 'Espionage and sabotage net'.It was later revealed that the group did not have one single piece of weapon and no information which relates to security was given by them .In 1986 they charged Vanunu as a spy for talking to a journalist from the London Times putting him behind bars for 18 years and limiting his moves and the right to speak freely ever since his release 4 years ago.Now the big threat to the security of Israel is Norman Finkelstein .The Zionist lobby headed by the arch zionist mouthpiece in the US, Alan Dershowitz,made sure he gets no tenurship at De Paul University and now he was crowned as 'A security threat'.
I hope liberals who support Israel will learn from this affair about How 'democratic' is Israel.

But while I'm disgusted with the fact that these people have achieved complete ownership of the U.S. Government, U.S. media, the U.S. banking system, most U.S. academic institutions, every congressional democrat, and will most likely be the deciding force of who will become the next U.S. president - I'm also in complete awe of these people. I mean, how can you not stand back in awe when you consider the fact that there are merely 13 million Jews in a world of more than 6 billion people, yet Jews disproportionately make up an astonishing percentage of the world's richest and most powerful people. Sometimes you've just got admit what is reality.

In politics passion can be a two edged sword .This is what we see in this debate .

If this Finkelstein person is a loon and a liar wouldn't it be wise to allow him in if only to show what a loon a liar he is? This doesn't make Israel look good, and by the way, in America we allow our enemies in all the time.
The problem with those running the israeli government, and, I might add, our government, is that they think they can do anything they want, and they do. No one says a word, and, if they do, they are crucified. It amazes me that a people so persecuted, as we are constantly reminded, has turned around and persecutes to a horrifying degree another people. Having been brought up on a Pentecostal home and NEVER having criticized Israel, I began to educate myself, knowing fully well that those in control of the media in the U.S. do not tell Americans what is really going on in Israel in regard to Palestine, and if the media tries in any way to educate us, Anti Semite is what they hear. My view point has completely changed, and I no longer support Israel unconditionally. I think that the neocons who, make no mistake about it, are still running this country (U.S.), and those running Israel are the most dangerous people in the world. Norman Finkelstein is not the only Jewish person who has suffered for speaking the truth. For example, look what happened to Vanunu (sp?). He revealed to the world -- another very brave man -- that Israel has nuclear weapons. They scooped him off the streets of Italy and threw him in jail for 18 years! Some DEMOCRACY!!!

I suppose that for all the 'principles' of the 'Enlightenment' that swore to investigate all things, including the holiest of issues (like the Trinity and Immaculate Conception for Catholics) yet now, nobody in the world is allowed to comment upon Israel--especially in America and in the EU without being slandered or calumniated. Israel. By deduction, she is unjust and worthy of censure if not more. The veil placed over American eyes concerning Israel has been rent.
So much for Israel being a democracy. Edward Said was right. It is a fragile democracy, dominated by Orthodox politicians who despise even Conservative Jews from Europe and the Americas.

But like every country that defends itself, it has ever write to ban someone who is clearly an enemy, and Finkelstein, after spending his life twisting reality in dishonest fashion for the sole purpose of trying to promote as much hate towards Israel as humanly possible, is certainly that. The truth is on Israel's side. That's why Finkelstein hand-selects which parts of the truth he wants to use and intentionally leaves other parts out, and then twists those truths to suit his anti-Israel agenda.

There's no point in allowing entry to a man whose sole purpose in life is to try to drum up as much hate against Israel as possible.
