Hezbollah fighters overpowered Israel in 2006 and kept Israel from occupying Lebanon. The US and Israel have been plotting to weaken the power of Hezbollah even since, and this incident is a result of that plotting. Hezbollah should not relinquish its power to the gov't. which is too weak to protect itself from Israel. A powerful Hezbollah is the only option Lebanon has at this time to retain its independence.
