Judaism's holiest 'shrine' is not the Western Wall, but rather the Temple Mount, which has been center of the Jewish nation since Solomon's Temple (the First Temple), nearly 2,000 years before Islam came into existence. The Western Wall is holy by virtue of the fact that it is a remaining portion of the Second Temple, which stood at the site 1,000 years before the invention of Islam.
At present, Jews are not allowed to pray on the Temple Mount - and are even forbidden from swaying or moving their lips in silent prayer! - because the Muslims that have day to day authority over the Mount are violently opposed to any form of Jewish prayer at the site. The Israeli police and army itself forcefully ejects any Jew that attempts to pray on the Mount because they fear the inevitably violent Muslim reaction from Jewish prayer.
Nuts, isn't it?
If the last Abode with God is yours exclusively, and not for other people, then long for death - if you speak truly. But they will never long for it, because of that their hands have forwarded. (Quran 2:94)
'Quran 2:94'
I like that passage because it is soft on my hemorrhoids.
Bear in mind how the last 'Axis of Evil' worked out for us.
McCain could be seen as selecting the next theatres of operation for U.S. troops. He'd be better off finding a way to negotiate, rather than more of what Bush wrought.
Based on McCain's statements linking Iran and al Qaeda, whick Lieberman had to correct - my own position is that one dummy of a President per century is one too many.
McCain is a smart guy, but is known for his temper (which he himself admits to) - and just as he admitted himself not knowledgable with economics, seems not to know diddley-squat about the various players in the Mideast.
Bush cannot claim 'victory' against terrorism with bin Laden out there issuing statements, and Afghanistan a narco-state supporting the Taliban.
