No one has ever called for the destruction of the Israel. What our president said was that the state of Israel in this form will not last forever and will be eradicated from the maps of history. This is different. The state of Israel will collaps itself in near future and it's just because it has been built on oppression and huge flow of money from US. This will not last forever. Currently we stand at top in producing scientific papers in the region and increasing exponentially. US could not harm us during the eight years of war forced on us and living us with empty hands and they can't do much today when we make miracles in term of hardwares and softwares in military equipments. We certainly are 20 years behind but the way we seek and build our way through the valley of troubles this gap will be elliminated in near future. Israel itself is nothing without backing from US and could not stand a war with Iran. They can do a lot of damage in terms of finantial leverage but they also have limitation and weak points. Iran is growing and there's not much they can do to prevent it.

Ah, hope springs eternal, but then 'near' is a relative term. Iran is making great progress. It SHOULD make great progress and should be making better progress than it is now given Iran's magnificent resources, but the current management of Iran us little cause to be worried about the fiscal health of Boeing or Airbus Industries.

But what harm would it make to provide the spareparts to save lives. What kind of threats exist to US or Israel and in what purpose thay block that? So we have to do it ourselves and we do it but it takes time. We learn. Someone else mentioned the lack of refinaries. Well, it doesn't matter how much you refine when most of it smuggles out of the country to Turky, Afghanistan or Pakistan. We have to solve that problem and build more refinaries. After all we have the largest car manufacturing in the middle east. You say no one would want to block progress in Iran, well think again. Us doesn't want us to use a simple computer. They even check the numbers of say, how much rice has been imported to Iran from Thailand. They have jailed people for exporting high presure pumps to Iran. They do want to restrain and controll whatever comes to Iran.

So just what was this land called then? I included links to some maps from the 1800's which clearly label the land as PALESTINE but unfortunately the links cannot be posted. But if you search 'The Jewish Virtual Library' they have pictures of some thirty pre-1948 maps. NO maps, not even from the 'Jewish Virtual Library' show any land labelled ISRAEL! But they ALL show a land called PALESTINE! It is ISRAEL which never existed! There are no maps in history prior to 1948 that depict an ISRAEL!
