It is time to start arming the Iranian dissidents. See how they like random death in Tehran.
'... The [U.S.] military also accused Iran of training, financing and arming Iraqi militia groups ...'
So? What else are they suppose to do? I suppose Iran can accuse the U.S. of training, financing and arming Iraqi [militia/army] groups. But, what is the point? It is obvious. One side wants to eradicate the other and visa versa. Iran doing what they are doing is obvious, just as it is obvious what the U.S. is doing. I suggest the U.S. actually talk to Iran in earnest. Perhaps the U.S. should elect a muslim president as I suspect that would go a long way to infusing understanding into the U.S. government. And while we are at it, the Iranians can elect a Christian leader. I know, it sounds like lunacy to you, but the fact that it sounds like lunacy demonstrates just how desperate the religious issue is. It is inconceivable to both sides that perhaps their own myopic narrow minded bigotry eternally prevents them from solving the problem.
Now that's a grand goal: solving the problem of lack of communication between Iran and the U.S!! Hasn't that opportunity come and gone a few times over inside the halls of the U.N.???? At least Iran cannot say in honesty, that they have not had a platform to have their real concerns heard by this august world body. The U.S. has listened, ad nauseum, to the empty rhetoric of Ahmadinejad for years. He offers nothing but belligerance and veiled threats
of wiping out Israel and the United States. No other sovereign nation does this without consequence of sanction or other reasonable censure.
Now that Ahmadinejad shows a preference for using the world's media to
add embellishment to his threats, and not the internationally approved general assembly, is it no wonder that the people of the United States ( I say, the people, and NOT the government) are weary of his threats and he has lost their sympathy as well as that of his own people now rioting in the streets of Tehran.
Ahmadinejad may have lost his potential to be reelected due to his stubborn gloating and verbal attacks against other free nations by failure to even ATTEMPT statesmanship. History has shown very clearly what can happen to those who choose singlehanded oppression and threats to gain only narrow forms of sovereignty for heir people who have fallen on hard times.
'I know, it sounds like lunacy to you'...
Typical of your posts.
'Typical of your posts.'
Thank you! Notice how my post was symmetrical? The fact is the U.S. supplied WMDs to Iraq to help overthrow Iran, among many other things. Both sides have been going at it for decades. There is a long history of both sides trying to wipeout and discredit the other side any way they can. And a history of both sides making fake overtures to the other for 'reconciliation'. Both sides behave in a completely bogus fashion and use the U.N. as a proxy for their games.
look's like we are into the propagander road again, blame everybody for the fiasco in Iraq, couldn't be that the nutter in the White House made a blunder invading Iraq in the first place. That shower of crap that where advising Bush, thought the Iraqies would roll over, what a disasterous calculation. Now we are looking at the invasion of Iran, the Israelies want it and what they want they get, only problem for your armed forces is they have to do the fighting, must be great to see all your tax dollars going to fund Israels coffers.
Sorry, Lance,I don't buy your story that communications efforts have been intentionally sabotaged by those who care.
Deputy level communications links have been successful but when Ahmadinejad looks things over, his pride and arrogance flair up and we get another dose of threats and dire warnings of doom. I'll bet that he'll be defeated in the upcoming election. Perhaps then the Iranian people can feel safer in voicing what they feel is the truth about Iran's real needs, and I doubt that one of those is nuclear weapons grade weaponry.
They will blame anyone bar themselves for their failures in Iraq, do they honestly believe that there are enough gullible people to buy this.
'The fact is the U.S. supplied WMDs to Iraq to help overthrow Iran'
WMD'S? Wrong, you are just provably wrong. That too is typical of your posts.
'There is a long history of both sides trying to wipeout and discredit the other side any way they can'
Since 1979, Iranians or Iranian funded and controlled terrorist groups have; invaded the US embassy and held our diplomatic staff for 444 days, took American journalists and a British minister hostage in Lebanon, killing William Buckley, bombed the US embassy in Lebanon killing 17 Americans, bombed the US barracks Beirut which killed 241 Americans on a peacekeeping mission, bombed the Khobar Towers killing 19 Americans, hijacked an aircraft and killed Robert Stethem and dumped his body on the tarmac, bombed a Jewish center in Argentina, killing 85, their proxy Hezbollah has started several conflicts with Israel, including the one last summer which left hundreds dead. They still have a bounty on the head of Salmon Rushdie for writing a book that they didn’t like, they have provided the Shiite death squads in Iraq with training and material as well as the Sunni death squads that go after the Shiites with the objective of creating as much bloodshed in Iraq as passable. They have also been supplying shaped charges and shoulder launched anti-aircraft missiles to kill coalition troops. They Chant 'death to America' on a daily basis in their schools and Mosques, they continually threaten to wipe Israel off the map, they have mined the Strait of Hormuz, they publicly lynch girls for being 'disobedient', they publicly lynch boys for being homosexual, they publicly lash women for the crime of being raped, they stone women to death for infidelity, they censor their news, They beat a Canadian journalist to death because she wrote unflattering stories, they murder political dissidents, invented the suicide bomber, kidnapped British sailors and holding them hostage, kidnapping American aid workers and holding them hostage...ect, ect....
So no, Iran has discredited itself, as you do in trying to draw some kind of moral equivalence between the theocratic, totalitarian state that Iran is and the west or the USA.
If bush or cheney told me today is Monday.....I'd check a calendar.

LOL! Details...
Ill bet they whine that you got that from Fox... You see Thoi, you are dealing with people who do not use reason, only emotion. Their 'feelings' are every bit as important to them as your thoughts. They 'feel' that Bush or the USA or the 'neo-cons' or whatever are the epicenter of all the badness in the world and therefore they 'feel' that whatever the badness is against must be good.
The aggravating thing is that this infantile outlook is essentially divorced from the same reality that you and I have to live toil and die in. They can see Iran, a country that lynches 16 year old girls for the crime of being 'disobedient' as the moral equivalent of a republican democracy that has cured more disease, done more to advance science, given more aid and freed more people then any other entity in the history of humanity. It doesn't need to make any sense to them, they 'feel' it, therefore it is their reality.
People should start educating themselves more about world polotics and the history of at least what is the cause of what's happening in the currant wars instead of letting other people do their thinking.
According to some of US official and pollitical anylasts Northern Afganistan would have never succeeded without help of Iran. Part of what is causing the problems Afganistan has now is not Iran but the West in peticular British by negotiating with Taliban in fact Iran helps Afhanistan more than any other country in rebuilding their A to Z.
One has to look at the whole picture and not just a part of it. To learn and know what is happening in Lebenan which is very serious and improtant towards comprehending the situation in Iraq. For example: Do remember what Rice said last summer about the war between Isreal and Hezbol'lah that the war was the labor pain of the new Middle east. Well, of course the bastard child was dead due to Isreals' defeat by Hezbol'lah.
One other reason is The people elected government of Iraq which by the support of Iraqi people has close ties to Iran whom is supporting and building Iraq. Now, a PART of the same group supported by US against Soviet Union in Afganistan war(out of the innorance of the group)is being munippulated by US to use terror with bombing tactics. We also have to account the so called Sunnie insurgent which is the former baath party under Sadum being armed by US (this was in the news only weeks ago).On the other hand there is the Alquida with their morally corrupt beleifs that go against teachings of Islam.
Remember the so called evidence presented against Iran that tured out to be a sham. If that was true US administration would never present an official request to meet with Iran regarding Iraq, like they did for their first meeting.
Bottom line is that Iran has a lot to lose and nothing to gain by the supporting Taliban, Alquida or baath party who are enemies of Iran as well as the US.
'People should start educating themselves more about world polotics and the history of at least what is the cause of what's happening in the currant wars instead of letting other people do their thinking. '
I smell some excuses for terrorism coming...
'According to some of US official and pollitical anylasts Northern Afganistan would have never succeeded without help of Iran.'
Iran is now arming the Taliban... Next.
' in fact Iran helps Afhanistan more than any other country in rebuilding their A to Z.'
Pure nonsense.
'

'. Well, of course the bastard child was dead due to Isreals' defeat by Hezbol'lah.
'
If you call 'victory' living in rubble and losing your seats in parliament, congratulations to that fat tub of pig lard Nasrallah on his inspiring 'victory'.
'The people elected government of Iraq which by the support of Iraqi people has close ties to Iran whom is supporting and building Iraq. '
Iran is supporting the Sunnis and the Shiites in the insurgency with the goal of creating as much bloodshed as possible to drive the USA out... Next.
'Now, a PART of the same group supported by US against Soviet Union in Afganistan war(out of the innorance of the group)is being munippulated by US to use terror with bombing tactics.'
Crazy, islamist conspiracy theories. Yoiu folks just can not take responsibility for anything, can you?
'Remember the so called evidence presented against Iran that tured out to be a sham. '
No. Please provide links to some kind of proof that it was a 'sham'.
'Bottom line is that Iran has a lot to lose and nothing to gain by the supporting Taliban, Alquida or baath party who are enemies of Iran as well as the US.'
They have lots to gain. They want to drive the USA out of the middle East so they can bully around their neighbors. They are working on an atomic bomb to do that as well.
