Many Iraqis feel that the US is about to make another U turn. Like in 1991 they will betray their supposed friends, the 80% of the population of Iraq, and create a military Sunni exclusive brutal regime. This regime that will win support and backing of Wahhabi Saudi Arabia will be created after butchering and subjugating at least the Shia Arabs. This will be done through arming factions such as the Islamic Army, 1920 Brigades, Omar Brigade and the like. This has been happening. Half of Baghdad which is out of control is in the hands of these thugs and this has been steadily created with the blessing and support of the US army.
I speak from the ground and my observations are a reflection of how ordinary people feel here in Baghdad.
See how stupid these Islamic people are,
They commit a heinous inhuman act, the perpetrators are caught or killed and the people who do the catching are considered the criminals. How sick is THAT?
IT IS ISLAMIC FUCKINGMENTALIST! No wonder they have failed as a people, society and as a race........What a mess they are; 5 centuries of schmutz......
The only thing they are half way good at is lying and destroying. I suppose when you have failed at all else and are jealous of everyone who hasn't failed: Out of frustration one would resort to LYING KILLING AND DESTROYING the ones that have succeeded.
PATHETIC actually.
What have they as a people brought to modern society? The CAR BOMBER that is a good one. The exploding belt. They also brought back the oldie BEHEADING Oh what a great list of accomplishments WHAT A WONDERFUL PEOPLE. If I were born a Muslim I would want to commit suicide as well.
Japan and germany are a whole different ball game than an arab muslim splintered state.Trying by force to impose democracy on Iraq will not stick.Tribal hatred is too strong and that was not a factor in germany or japan either.
Thats the short sighted mistake of the US,believing they can get the same result as with germany and japan, what works for one situation does not mean it will work for another situation.
When you take out an iron fisted dictator ,you have to consider why he was and when gone whats left to deal with. That was another short sighted mistake of the US invasion.I do not see how they are ever going to get the Iraqis to run after the doggy stick.Saddam kept a lid on it and now his removal has simply resulted in civil war.A lot of people dead and its passed its sell by date.
Not the best public relations exercise in democracy at all.If thats how you bring human rights to people by killing them and causing them to kill each other
Democracy is not some kind of lethal force dictatorship, the people have to want it,and if not get out of there and let them do it thier way.
As it is democracy has to function on firm and fair foundations and it never can with the unfair tribal customs ,especially in relation to the role of women.
I have never heard that Muslims smell. It would make sense if you ever kneeled to pray in a mosque and the guy kneeling in front of you didn't take a shower last week...Oh my would that be awful. The only thing worse would be a fat guy farting after every prayer...yikes that would be a religious ordeal. I would be MOVED for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all americans are fat bastards.
My husband is there doing the job as a soldier. He called last night weary and sad. He is in Baqubah. Unless you are there do not believe anything you read. My husband and his men tried to save a three year old little Iraqi girl who received shrapnel in her skull and brain. He called the insurgents 'evil' with much venom in his voice. They are not fighting Iraqi's, They are fighting Muslim extremists mostly from other countries such as Syria, Iran, ect. The Iraqi people just want the violence to end. There is a quiet movement among the native Iraqi people called 'unified Iraq', they wear necklaces in the shape of Iraq. They do not hate us, they just want their country back, back from Saddam, back from extremist Islamics, back from foreigners, all foreigners. And that is what the mission is.
Seems to me the apes and pigs are those who destroy God's creatures mindless of their right to be here, without thought to the innocent people like that little girl. Our soldiers practise restraint (rules of engagement) and do not kill intentionally the civilians in Iraq. Everyone was warned about the coming offensive. We have only good intentions through Bush's insistence on staying there. The people who hide behind women and children using them as shields and canon fodder are evil and are not of God, but of Satan who enjoys destruction of God's creation. There is room in the middle east for all peoples to find a way to tolerate each other and deal with conflict nonviolently but those who think they are doing God's work by killing themselves in crowded areas are only doing the Devil's work of destruction. They are deluded, lost souls who will perish in hell. God is a Creator not a Destructor. Our troops act defensively to bring peace to the area not to destroy Iraq but to build that country up in freedom and peace. Allah is disappointed today.
Any true artist in any genre can tell you that God (Allah) is an Artist. He continues to watch and wait for us to grow and develop into a masterpiece and yet we fail to reach that magnificence. Like any work of art, God's creation has taken on a life of its own.... not always in the direction of love, truth, beauty, harmony, which was the artist's intention. We have made choices.
All progress has been painted in human blood. From sea to shining sea. I hope and pray that we learn and outgrow our primitive thinking of fight or flight, and become the thoughtful, loving, creative, and intelligent beings we were meant to be...someday....until then war always war........................
'Many Iraqis feel that the US is about to make another U turn. '
How is that oil bill coming? How are the police and army doing? Not well, eh?
You are not leaving us a lot of options other then back tracking on democracy for stability.
'ike in 1991 they will betray their supposed friends, '
'Supposed' is right. Our 'supposed' friends assured us that Iraqis would be able to put together a democracy and help bring stability to the region. Our supposed friends were liars.
'This regime that will win support and backing of Wahhabi Saudi Arabia will be created after butchering and subjugating at least the Shia Arabs'
Instead of whining on the internet about it why are you not using your language skills to tell people that the window of opportunity is closing. The time to chose between authoritarianism and freedom is now. If they continue to sit on the fence and wait for one side to win they are going to be in for a long and bloody civil war.
'Half of Baghdad which is out of control is in the hands of these thugs and this has been steadily created with the blessing and support of the US army. '
Not from what I hear. It sounds to me like you are one of our 'supposed' friends. It is clear that you have an agenda. You should be more concerned about Americans pulling out then most. You need to be helping to put pressure on the government to make the necessary compromises that are required to stave off the American withdrawal. We are there to give you an opportunity, not do everything for you. The opportunity is going away.
'I speak from the ground and my observations are a reflection of how ordinary people feel here in Baghdad. '
Take a look around these forums. Ordinary people here are sick to death with the lack of progress and determination they see coming out of Iraq. Especially from our 'supposed' friends there.
Thanks Danielle, to you and your husband. I pray that he returns soon and safely and that you two have all the happiness in the world.
My agenda and that of most Iraqis is to reclaim some degree of normal life that have been lost in the midst of blood, murder, bombings, sanctions, misery, fleeing, uprooting, lost childhoods and the list is endless.
My agenda is to go back to my lost home in a neighborhood that is controlled by thugs who have evicted us and tens of other families, from homes that we have owned for tens of years.
Do you why I lost my home? Because the US army chose to look the other side while insurgents, from the Qaeda and its offshoots, were gradually taking over killing innocent civilians who had nothing to do with politics or sectarianism.
I was a staunch supporter of the Surge hoping that the Americans will do right what they failed to do in the first place. I gave the US army the benefit of the doubt.
On this forum I argued supporting the surge.
Now the surge has not delivered my home or my life back. Do you know why? Because now the US officially endorsed that rule of the Islamic Army and the 1920 brigades in the neighborhood.
In other words, Sir, the US army is now supporting the thugs that kidnapped me and evicted me and dozens of other families from our homes for no reason other then being of the wrong sect.
Let me add the thugs are not the neighbors. The neighbors are good honest ordinary folk.
The funny irony is that these thugs who are the new friends of the US army now accused me of being a collaborator!!?
Democracy wasn't 'new' to either Germany or Japan. Before WWII both were taken over by totalitarian governments with military ambitions.
The occupation was also helped in that the USA had 4.8 MILLION troops to keep order in 1945, not to mention that neither Germany nor Japan had such huge religious and ethnic divides of Iraq.
Its unfortunate that the USA has become the new USSR. Of course look at the origin of the Neocons...they are Russian Trotskyite jews. No wonder they are big fans of Soviet style interventionism! People didn't hate the Soviets because of religion, politics, or way of live. They hated them because the USSR was busy overthrowing governments, installing puppet governments, and oppressing popular support for opposition parties. If you look at what the Soviets did in Afghanistan, its identical to what the USA is doing now. They built schools, they pushed the Afghans to their style of life, they made women equal to men, they tried to rebuild their infrastructure, they supported the puppet government of Najiboullah and of course they occupied the nation for 8 years. The USA is no different in that regards, except perhaps of oil pipeline ambitions. The Soviets always had oil, they weren't too concerned about pipelines and oilfields.
...eh!? What are the signs?
Dead folk
Guns
Shooting
Uniforms
Angry Towelheads
...yep...It's war!
'Now the surge has not delivered my home or my life back'
We know, we know, why haven't you called the Iraqi police and if you have why haven't they done anything? I find it hard to believe that the US Army has condoned the theft of your property.
'Democracy wasn't 'new' to either Germany or Japan'
Japan was never a democracy before 1945.
'Before WWII both were taken over by totalitarian governments with military ambitions.'
So in other words, yes, you can impose democracy.
'The occupation was also helped in that the USA had 4.8 MILLION troops to keep order in 1945,'
Indeed.
'Its unfortunate that the USA has become the new USSR. '
LOL... Have some more kool aid...
'Of course look at the origin of the Neocons...they are Russian Trotskyite jews.'
LOL... Always goes back to blaming the Jews.... 'Neocons' = Trotskites' = Jews... again, whatever...
Better them then us? It was never going to be us in Iraq. It will be us in Afganistan and Pakistan, that is who is coming after us. Anybody who says better them then us is a sheep brain fool.
Bueno -Our(U.S.) defeat in the Middle East is a kind of justice for meddling in others affairs. Unfortunately the innocent pay the price. At least we have lost so as to thwart any future such adventures. But will they ever learn? Ie. Vietnam.
This war with Islam will only end when the Muzzies love their children more than they hate us.
...if we don´t kill them they will try to kill us'
Right, I guess every woman and children that US helicopters killed were eager to kill US citizens yeah, really. This is looking like a genocide and the Bush administration, the most murderous regime the world have seen since the day´s of Hitler are, once again, responsible.
It's abundantly clear that the U.S. is following a self-defeating and self-destructing policy in Iraq. Only a fool will deny this. Not only military, but also economically. The more civilians are killed and maimed the more the deeper the guagmire they find themselves in. Violence can never and will never be the solution in situations where the civilian population is being targetted. The Iraqis and there are 25 million of them, are retaliating and rightly so taking revenge and American soldiers are dying in vain every day. But the criminal Bush-administration are not only facing the Iraqis, as time goes by they are increasingly facing the American people as well. Look at their defeat in Congress and that is not the end, mark my word. So hopefully there is hope.
From an observer from the other side of the world.
The Bush/Cheney Mission To Plunder The American Family & Enrich Big Oil Companies & Giant Defense Contractors is Accomplished!
Christian Coalition Troops Occupying Sacred Muslim Land is Destabilizing The Middle East & Causing Big Oil & ExxonMobil & Big Defense Contractors & Halliburton To Earn Massive Profit!
• American People in the last election spoke loud and clear & demand OUT OF IRAQ! The American People WERE BETRAYED BY PELOSI & REED! DO NOT BETRAY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AGAIN!
• Bush/Cheney policies have created a holocaust event in the middle east, wasted hundreds of billions of dollars on military spending, destabilized the Middle East which has raised the price of a barrel of oil to $70 and a gallon of gasoline to $3-$4 ! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
• Democracy anywhere must include an independent media. CORPORATE CONTROL HAS REPLACED INDEPENDENT MEDIA! THERE ARE NO independent voices appearing on CNN, MSNBC and FOX NEWS! Only Neutered Republican & Democratic Strategists!
• There are 463 Million Muslims in the Middle East. Most want Christian Coalition Troops off their land and many are willing to support Al-Qaeda with money or manpower to make it happen.
• US Government can make Al-Qaeda cease to exist and make them a rebel without a cause and dry up all their financial support! Get US troops Out of Muslim Land.On March 21, 1983 Ronald Reagan called Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden “Freedom Fighters” when they fought and ousted the Soviet Occupiers and ended their puppet government in Afghanistan. Why is the US Government so surprised to find them (Al-Qaeda) doing to US Troops in Afghanistan & Iraq in 2007 (killing them) what we wanted them to do to Soviet Troops in Afghanistan in 1978 (kill them)!
OCCUPATION: THE CAUSE NOT THE CURE
• Over a million Iraqi & Iranian soldiers were killed in the 1978-1988 War. The Bush Administration with the consent of congress is headed for another catastrophic war - with Iran with the possible use of nuclear weapons – At risk is massive loss of US Troops in Iraq!
• Only Diplomatic resolution to nuclear buildup in the Middle East can remain on the table. The greatest risk of worldwide nuclear war comes not from Iran’s Enrichment Program but Israel’s 200-400 targeted and ready to be launched thermonuclear weapons! Time to end this cover-up and send in weapons inspectors!
• 2 out of every 3 barrels of oil on planet earth are located in 5 countries in the Middle East and is worth over 44 trillion dollars. This oil cannot be drank but must be sold – the US Troops are NOT needed to protect these reserves.
• Over 3,500 American Lives have been lost in Iraq and Over 26,000 US Troops have been wounded. Over 437 billion dollars have already been spent in Iraq and another 12 billion per month. Congress must redeploy US Troops out of Iraq & Afghanistan and into protecting the US and its borders. This War Must Be a War Against Energy Waste! Congress must help get Americans off fossil fuels and into renewable energy sources by providing grants and loans to homes and business.
GRANTS & LOANS FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY
• off fossil fuels and into renewable energy sources by providing grants and loans
• The Bush/Cheney Administration Invades Iraq Based On Lies and Profit, Installs a Democracy With Bullets & Bombs, Creates an (Oil Rich) Shia Controlled Iraqi Government, Which Will Force 6 Million (Oil Empty) Sunnis To Choose Between Eating Sand or Setting Bombs!
• Iraq & Afghanistan will never settle their civil wars unless the US gets our troops out. Any government that can only exist as a result of Protection by US Troops is not legitimate and will eventually be overthrown following a US Troop Withdrawal.
• END THE CONGRESSIONAL COVERUP to the Correct Number of Deaths in Iraq as a result of the US invasion of 2003. The Scientific Lancet Study Reported 559 Additional Iraqi Deaths PER DAY. The total number of Iraqi Death up until June of 2007 would be 866,450!
• The Mission of GENERAL DAVID PETRAUS is to install security and stability in Iraq! It is clear to the America that US OCCUPATION IS NOT THE CURE BUT IS THE CAUSE OF INSECURITY AND INSTABILITY IN IRAQ! THIS IS THE MAIN REASON WHY A BARREL OF OIL IS NOW TRADING AT $69.25 PER BARREL!
• The people in the Middle East have done very well without US involvement for the past 4000 years.
SAY YES TO DIPLOMACY NO TO OCCUPATION!
