bush's war needs to be stopped.
impeach him. pull the funding bring the troops home. this is not a war for freedom, democracy or standing up to a threat to the world.
they deserve better then being over worked, put in harms way for nothing but ego and pride. these men and women are our hero's they have done what was asked of them. we should do them justice, bring them home and take care of them. support the troops and bring them back home ALIVE.
Iraq 'success' possible without end to violence, Bush says
this is totally true--these morons have been killing each other for centuries...but the success is having them reduce the muslim population by about 85% thru 'self genocides'
allah akbar
ha ha ha
Bush is worried about congress infringing on his powers. But recently he was looking for a 'was czar' to whom he could cede his power.
The United States was created by men who believed that the process of reaching consensus could keep us free from tyranny. That is why they gave congress, a group of people, the power to constrain the president. This is their duty. The previous congress neglected their duty, and have allowed this president to function as a tyrant. This congress is only little better, but they at least have demonstrated that they have the will to shoulder their responsibility.
I have a solution for Bush's problem: impeach him. Removing him from office will allow him to spend the rest of his life explaining to all who will listen that he was just about to win the war when he was thwarted. That will make him happy. The rest of us can then be happy about having finally held this petty tyrant accountable for at least some of his high crimes and misdemeanors.
So now, Mr. Bush has lower the bar for US success in Iraq. I am curious what an acceptable level of violence will be.
This guy is simply trying to pass the problem he created on to the next President, without trying to look like he gave in to the pressure.
Thinking about this guy simply upset me, to say the least. Lord have mercy on the souls of all the dead soldiers and Iraqis, and the ones that will still die before someone finally bring them home.
Bush put the troops in Iraq in the first place. He started an immoral, illegal and unnecessary war--ignoring world opinion, and UN inspectors. He (and especially Cheney) created the lies that enabled Congress to vote him unprecedented powers to wage the war. Bush never had any exit strategy, and keeps extending tours of an over-used National Guard. He reduces the benefits of veterans, and allows shamefully inadequate health care for them.
NOW HE BLAMES CONGRESS FOR NOT SUPPORTING THE TROOPS!
What is wrong with this picture?
Nothing. That is, as long as those oil leases are in place!
All discussion of The Iraq War must include its illegality, and oil leases
Otherwise it is smoke and mirrors.
After seeing this news story one thing stands clear:
George W. Bush couldn't make change for a dollar - he is that stupid.
Republicans should be ashamed. If not, they're as delousional as Mr. Bush is.
bush got into this mess against his father's best advice. But the filthy demoncraps who are willing to sell America down the drain for partisan politics are an order of magnitude worse than bush.
The US troops should only return when the Iraqi govt tells them they should return. Until then the US and British troops should stay in Iraq and try to fix the mess that WE the American people sent our troops there to create. WE the American people have lost the right to cry foul when, drunk with power and arrogance and armed with the ability to 'shock and awe', WE the people had our troops sent there. A full 76% supported the Iraq war when it started. And no, the 'lies' of the administration about Iraq and the WMDs are not new - they were known back then too. Now lets foot the bill and the losses and take responsibility for our actions.
this is the funniest article i have ever read that was not a joke. when the dookie hits the fan, at least we can laugh at where the crap lands.
If there's ever a time in US history that an impeachment would be appropriate. This is the time. The Congress need to get aggressive with this guy and let him know that enough is enough. In his eyes the Mission was Accomplished 4 years ago. We have been lead astray by this administration so many times, it's ridiculous. 19 more months, all of these will be someone else's problem.
America and the world should not forgive him, including the idiots that voted to authorize the war.
defending this 'war' in any way is laughable. our troops are heroic for doing
their duty in spite of the obvious. it`s not only pointless but actually
counter-productive.
bush is an asshole that needs to be impeached
Acceptable levels of violence?
What exactly is it?
A 100 deaths a day?
And we mourn the 32 in Virginia tech while hundreds die everyday in Iraq
Bush is a criminal. I wonder how he can sleep having been the cause of so many deaths.
And it was all lies.
Ace, where do you come up with 100's of deaths a day? Maybe from the Iraqis killing each other, but not the U.S. doing it. There are no good Iraqis so the higher their death count the better. Only American casualties are worth counting.
FAST FORWARD
God forbid, there be another terrorist strike. Nobody wants that to happen. Least of all me. But just in case this Bush administration is planning a bunch of fake terror scares to drum up support for this ridiculous war effort in Iraq, I have decided to give my opinion about it.
The first thing that this Bush administration would say in the case of an attack is:
' We told you so, if you remove funding for the war, this happens. '
HOGWASH. ALL A STRIKE WOULD PROVE, IS THAT THE ADMINISTRATION HAS NOT BEEN DOING THE JOB OF PROTECTION AGAINST SUCH THINGS. IF THEY WERE INTERESTED IN PROTECTING THE AMERICAN PUBLIC AT ALL, THEY WOULD NOT LET 5 MILLION UNKNOWN PEOPLE COME ACROSS THE BORDER ILLEGALLY EACH YEAR. FURTHERMORE, ACCORDING TO SEVERAL SOURCES, PREPAREDNESS FOR DISASTERS IS STILL QUITE INSUFFICIENT. THIS IS ANOTHER AREA WHERE THE ADMINISTRATION HAS FAILED MISERABLY. IF THE CONNECTION IS MADE WITH IRAQ , ALL THAT SHOWS IS THAT THE WAR HAS FOSTERED TERRORISM AND HELPED IT TO GROW, RATHER THAN ERADICATING IT.
SO LETS GET THIS STRAIT :
PROTECTION AGAINST TERROR STRIKES ... FAILURE
PREPAREDNESS FOR DISASTERS ... FAILURE
DIMINISHING THE RISK OF A TERRORIST ATTACK ...FAILURE
Watching the mishandled Katrina situation, has given us a glimpse of the type of mismanaged effort we might see. The lack of planning will probably result in the loss of more lives. Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

Lets face it. At the risk of stereotyping, Texans are not renowned for their wisdom. They are known as bullies. It's cultural. When Al Qaeda struck on 9/11 it knew it would be a Brain v Brawn battle. Bush was the perfect President to show Al Qaeda was right in their assessment of him from the start. Bush the bully continues his poor performance and is desperately in need of uncommon wisdom which he will only find if he listens to the common people.
I can't even speak to the ignorance above, 'only American casualties are worth counting?' Come on, keep your bigotry to yourself. No rational person would espouse such a belief.
Those of us with our eyes open have been calling this war for what it is from day one. Over 100,000 people took to the streets in San Francisco the day the bobms started falling, and 100,000 more in New York and DC. Finally, the representatives are heeding the call of the masses, put an end to this madness, bring our troops home. Bush refuses to listen to the people who he serves. When the leaders refuse to listen to those who they lead, it is time to overthrow them and redistribute the power. Fortunately, the great men who founded our nation crafted a method to do so: impeachment. It is time to use this constitutional tool.
Impeach Bush, Cheney and teh rest of the war mongers for high crimes and misdemeanors. Clinton was tried for lies about his personal life! How can we stand by and be lied to about matters that have resulted in the death of over 3,500 Americans (and, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's, who, by the way, do matter).
Mr. Bush claims that he sleeps well at night. If that is the case I suggest there is something wrong with his mental state. The situation in Iraq is only half Mr. Bushes fault. The other half belongs to the Voters who gave him another four years. Fool me once..............
Should we stay or should we go?? :P
First off, this war was illegal. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, did not have WMD's, and was a very little threat to our security. They had a tyrant for a leader and lots of oil, but there wasn't nearly as many violent deaths as there are now (at least since the 80's). Iraq was contained, and Saddam was loosing his mind. A lot of us knew the president was out for oil. Well, I sincerely doubt any amount of oil will fix the scars of this war, and how horribly our image has been damaged throughout the world.
I believe the dems are doing the right thing. However, I do believe we should fix what we ruined. Hopefully, new MRAP vehicles and improved body-armor coupled with a better strategy can make it leave-able. By setting timetables, the dems are letting the president know that we want out, we need out... and soon. BUT, for once, he is right that letting the enemy know when we will be leaving is an invitation to let Al Quaeda come in and topple the Iraqi govt.
Dealing with this president is unfortunately like dealing with an a-hole car salesman. The dems name their price, he names his, and so on until there is a compromise. Now that we at least have a system of checks and balances, I have faith that we can get out of this mess sooner than later. We may not 'win' the war, but we can at least shift our focus to Al Quaeda in an attempt to root them out. The sectarian violence should be left to the Iraqis to handle.
As far as impeachment, I say Cheney goes first since he's the evil one (come on, haliburton??). Bush is just the dumb one.
