Fine, If you wish to get to the substance of the situation we can talk about your reflexive blaming the USA for every malady under the sun, including (But by no means limited to) the Iranians taking British hostages in international waters, which was what the subject was.
Does it help you to make sense of your world to have some monolithic source of infinite badness that you can point the finger at and declare that we are responsible for the actions of everyone else? Isn’t it a bit infantile to need to rationalize things in such “black and white” terms? Where is our “moral equivalence”? Or can you only make rationalizing logical back flips for whomever is offering to murder us in the name of Allah? The poor underdog is always right and everyone else is always the poor underdog.
You want to talk about hypocrisy? Where is the effort to understand OUR motivations? You have not only demonstrated that you could care less but when the long suffering attempt is made to illuminate them you practically stick your fingers in your ears and chant LA LA LA LA at the top of your lungs.
We were attacked, repeatedly, killing thousands of Americans in several different countries on several different occasions. I know this because I was able to watch people I know being incinerated at their desks when some evil sub human hijacked aircraft full of human beings and flew it into buildings full of human beings. OK? Things like that have repercussions.

I have traveled through the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait and Egypt. I have also been to Morocco and Turkey. Trust me, they are a minority BUT there are more then enough people out there who hate non-Muslims simply because they are non-Muslims to keep the Jihad going indefinitely. I too have lived (not visited) in many of those countries you mention especially those around the skirt of the Arabian Peninsula and up the Gulf. This was in the dying days of British Empire .. whilst we tried to put in place those things and people .. that would ensure that we still had client states long after the troops had gone.
