BACKGROUND: The Iraq war in numbers

Washington - Since the US-led invasion four years ago, the Iraq conflict has claimed at least 70,000 civilian lives and nearly 10,000 lives of soldiers and police officers from Iraq, the US and eight coalition countries. What follows is a picture of the war in numbers, according to the Washington-based think tank Brookings Institution. Other sources are so noted. DEATHS: Iraqi civilians - 70,100 to 89,000. Non-Iraqi civilians - 514. Iraqi soldiers and police officers - 6,271. Coalition soldiers - 3,465, including 3,197 US; 134 British; 124 non-British and non-US troops. Journalists - 95, including 74 Iraqi journalists. TROOP STRENGTH: Iraqi army - 135,000; Coalition troops - 155,035 from 22 nations, including US - 141,000; Britain - 7,100; South Korea - 2,300; Poland and Georgia - each 900; Romania - 600; Australia - 550; Denmark - 460. ESTIMATED COSTS: US outlay - 500 billion dollars by 2008, US officials say. DAILY VIOLENCE: Average number of insurgent attacks over four years - 108 per day. Average for August 2005 to January 2006 - 81.1 per day. Average for November 2006 to February 2007 - 148.9 per day. Number of kidnappings of Iraqis - currently 30 to 40 per day. Number of foreign nationals kidnapped in four years - 300, including 54 killed. Estimated number of Iraqi insurgents - 20,000 to 30,000. How deceptive are these numbers!

Total Iraqis killed over 1.1 million---OVER 1 MILLION Shiites civillians and uniformed
Less than 100,000 sunnies Civillians and uniformed.
Less than 10,000 non-Muslims including foriegn troops and civillians.

WHAT ABOUT THE BUSH PLAN TO ATTACK SYRIA, SUDAN, LYBIA, SOMALIA, IRAN??????????
