So, what would the mission be in Afghanistan?

Get rid of the bad guys, The Taliban?

Who are the Taliban bad to and why is it any of Britian's business?

If the Afghanistan people want anything other than the Taliban they themselves are going to have to fight for it and not rely on military welfare. Britian's role is to keep Afghanistan on welfare.

Give a man protection and he can grow opium for a day. Give that same man a rifle and he can kill a Taliban until the ammunition runs out.
